    Good evening,

Here's mine for the last couple of days:

    1. Clearing and decluttering in progress, lots of old documents burned in the woodstove

    2. Friend sold me her fancy Brabantia stainless steel bin for very little, and threw in a lot of bags too.

    3. The IKEA OS meet went fantastically well.

    4. Walk and coffee with friend this morning

    5. Another refresher driving lesson and now I can reverse park the car! Feeling rather proud of myself.

    Good night x
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

I have had rather a lazy day ,which makes a change!

Went to bed early last night with a book....fell asleep and was awoken by UK mobile going off, this was at midnight and was a car hire place giving OH a quote.....could not get back to sleep for ages.

    1. Not up early enough to have chat with friend and go swimming early so chose friend! Had a good 90 minute chat with her and went back to bed.

2.had my first Saturday scone in ages and very nice it was too...a date scone.

    3. Did shopping , not particularly cheap but needed lots of toiletries that are quite expensive here.....no cheapy pound shops for us here.

    4. Got a lovely recipe book free with the purchase of 3 baking items, which I needed. It's a lovely book.

    5. Came home, have done not a lot , when I have a lot I could have done.
Have written 3 long letters to friends, heating has been on and candles lit and me and OH sat in front room in companionable silence. Most cosy. It is 13o today....rather cooler than Thursday !

Have a lovely weekend whatever you are up to x

    5. Nice tea - chicken left over from sunday made into a pie by adding some veg and a tin of condensed mushroom soup. Just for chicken I wrote Yummy Pie on top in pastry letters.

    VJsmum - glad to hear it ! Although I , as I am extremely childish I would replace the "Y" with a "B" ;)

Skint - get well now !!

Afternoon. Nothing has been particularly good over the last few months but I need to get back into things and get back on to the OS wagon. Also need to try and focus on the positives in life so I'm popping my head back in, if you don't mind. Let's try and find some pleasures for today:

    1. A nice lay-in this morning, with DH bringing me a cup of tea in bed. That was nice.
    2. Have so far managed to avoid drinking fizzy pop.
    3. Watched a film from LoveFilm last night which wasn't too bad.
    4. Have got my mealplan sorted and it looks like I don't need to do much shopping next week.
    5. I guess, the fact that it is the weekend is a pleasure.

Well, that's it. Have a great evening, everyone.

    K xx

I'll do my 5 now before I go out.

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Whizzed in to town to upgrade smaller son's mobile phone.

    3) Boys off with their father so I have washed up, tidied and replaced the loo seat!

    4) Did the charity shops in Ludlow. Rather disappointing (and 2 of them have got VERY expensive) but did get some fleecy pyjama trousers for £1.50.

    5) Did Aldi and got a few bargains. Esp cous cous (the instant stuff) and naan breads.

    6) Going to my sister's for tea and a games night (e.g scrabble) with her boyfriend also and my brother.

    7) Casualty on iplayer later!

Caterina: I read about the Ikea meet up sounds like it was a blast.

The Spoondolies did not turn up in the account, but they did send an invoice so, benefit of the doubt and touching wood it will turn up on Monday being a business day.

Today has been lovely, a slow wake up, then with a cuppa in hand, I sat and watched an ebay item that we have been looking for for over 12 months, we won it at half of the budget I was going for and to find out that it’s only a mile away from us in the same town as well, perfect.
We then thought we would pop out into town for market fruit and veg, but it all looked like it had been put through the tumble dryer first, so instead we popped into the bakers and picked up some lovely rolls. And a few cheap bits and pieces but so surprised by how much everything has gone up by and the size games they are playing.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

    1.A nice lay in
2.We won an ebay freezer we had been waiting for about a year now for one to come up and it was starting to get desperate, so happy.:T:beer:
3.Nice to get out for a few hours and gets a few little things, but also nice to get back.
4.Stopped in at the cafe for dinner, full roast etc for both of us, and drinks just under a tenner.
    5. Rummaged through the Charity Shops, picked up a couple of mugs, and a book, all 50p each.
    6. Just chilling.

    Evening all.

KB - of course we don't mind you coming back - it's lovely to see you. :)
    VJsmum - glad to hear it ! Although I , as I am extremely childish I would replace the "Y" with a "B" ;)

    :rotfl:

VJsmum - I used to hate networking, too, until I realised that networking really just = talking, which is something I don't have any difficulties with at all. ;)

ampersand - I'm loving the sound of your detective work - it sounds utterly intriguing. It's also reminded me that I must try and get a valuation for a WWI-era brass cigarette lighter which belonged to my great-grandfather - not that I have the slightest intention of selling it, but I should get it insured if it's at all valuable.

    1) Nice long lie-in this morning, although I had some very odd dreams. :undecided I'd love to find the real-life counterpart of a bracelet I dreamed about - that could be a long time coming! :rotfl:

    2) NSD and NPD - actually a NPF as I haven't driven my car since the operation two weeks ago.

    3) Made myself a mushroom omelette for brunch and, as always, wondered why I don't eat omelettes more often.

    4) Finally got round to doing some proper studying and remembered why I wanted to do this in the first place - the first part of this course is precisely the subject area I'm most interested in, and the time flew past. :)

    5) Harvested the last of my HG borlotti beans - it's a pretty pathetic crop, but there's probably enough there for a meal if I bulk them out with other veg.

    6) Cut back my tomato plants to give the last fruit a chance to ripen, and, as usually happens, found a couple of additional toms hiding amongst the leaves. :)

    7) I finally gave up on my camellia - originally a freebie - which died from lack of water while I was away in Birmingham :(, and promptly received a code for 20% off at an online plant seller which enabled me to buy a new one. :)

    8) Also bought some saffron crocus bulbs which will make an interesting GYO project.

    9) Realised I had no onions for tonight's dinner and, as I was set on an NSD, took the opportunity to thin out my HG leeks and use the pulled ones instead. :)

    10) Keema curry simmering away on the hob - it's very inauthentic, but smells wonderful.

    11) I think I've finally got the hang of doing the bandages for my toe - the technique I've hit upon is similar to that used when making spring rolls, which is fairly appropriate for a keen cook!

    12) Sipping a glass of an unusual but surprisingly tasty bottle of wobbleade which we won at a pub quiz a few weeks ago. (Hopback's Taiphoon, for TILAMS and anyone else who's interested in beer - it's actually pretty good!)

It's been a pretty good day today. :) Have an equally pleasant evening, everyone.
Back after a very long break!
