Its not actually TMobile giving out this information, and tbh this has been going on for months (possibly longer) with other companies also. Whats happening is there are 3rd party companies getting hold of customers numbers, calling up the IVR systems and enetering these numbers and then pressing to go through to the automated upgrade line, which is telling them when the upgrade is due. This is being investigated I know for a fact, and TMobile have taken steps to try and prevent this happening.
Please tell the full story insider, otherwise youre just scaremongering! If you are a TMobile insider then you would have been briefed on this weeks ago!10k in 2010 - £350.77 :beer:0 -
I also received exactly same call twice recently.
I have a T-mobile phone but that is given to me by my employer (a large organization). I don't understand how they are allowed to call people in this way. When they called me, they could not even confirm my name. So, probably they got a database of all T-mobile numbers and calling all of them!Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0 -

The 3rd party companies are also just calling customers up on a whim and telling customers there upgrade is due even if it isnt so they are not all using the IVR process. T-Mobile do not activly give out customers details to any 3rd party companies. Im not sure how they get enough details for a credit search, the next time i get a call as i seem to regulary then i will attept to record the conversation
As to scaremongering i am simply drawing peoples attention to the fact that this is happening - & as T-Mobile cant do anything for a customer that has signed up to a contract with another provider unbeknown to them. Then its best to get everyone informed before it gets to that point.0 -
We've had them a lot, older customers usually fall for it, and i've unfortunatly had problems where people have recieved the phone 8/9 days after the call, and they won't return it under DSR as it had 'been over 7 days'
I think they overturnt it once Trading Standards and Watchdog were informed, mind these cases were a little ago, not heard of any bar some Sky Telecom trying to get me a few weeks go.
