Right, just been told our spare bed mattress is being taken back tomorrow by friends who lent it to us and we have 3 friends visiting this weekend.
This bed will be used maybe 30 times a year for visiting friends.
Spec:
Looking for a pretty firm mattress,
Pocket sprung
Double Size.
Hoping to have it all delivered for under £200. All advice, companies, beds etc recommended!
Thanks
Sam

Have a google, I got one the next day from Bedworld but it was over £300 (and well worth it, a Millbrook reduced from nearly £700). I also went through quidco to buy it and got another 10% cash back.
Mattress man is another site which gives next day delivery.0 -
Thanks Hethmar for recommendation. Bit more than we want to spend considering it'll be used so rarely. Our own mattress is a lovely IPS one but can't justify that price for the spare room!0

Having looked at a lot of mattresses online recently I would think you would struggle getting a double sized pocket spring for under £200. The very cheapest on bedworld and mattressman are £199 but the firmest of these is a medium firm so may not be enough for you.
I would also say that 30 times a year is fairly heavy use for a guest bed!0 -
Yes, so would I! I'd probably change that to 20 nights total!
If not pocket sprung, any recommendations?!0 -

Thanks ABT, but that's 10cm too big! They do stupid sizes to fit IKEA beds only I think>?!0

A very slight second is available from here at £229, reduced from £375.

Or this one, again second for only £169, from £239.

Topcashback at 8% reduces prices even further.
Good luck.

We bought a mattress yesterday, pocket sprung not big name brand.
We went to a local shop, because I feel it's important to try these things.....or is this view old hat?0 -
Thanks Lynsey. Will give the mattress man a call now!
No Kabayiri, completely agree but as a spare room one I don't feel it so important and time isn't on our side!0 -
