Remember under distance selling regs you have 7 days to return them from when you received them, NOT from when you ordered them or when they were sent out.

    7 working days at that.

If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Indeed it is 7 working days starting from the day after the customer receives the goods. Although I'm not sure how 'working days' are defined in this instance. You'd think it was Mon-Fri, but I would imagine internet companies would argue they are 'open' 7 days a week.

Oh and the company must inform you of your rights to return - through T&C's etc, otherwise the time limit is 3 months + 7 days.

I think the working days does exclude weekends and Bank Holidays regardless of whether they are 'open' or not.

that would be correct, mon-fri excluding bank holidays always.
    Back by no demand whatsoever.
  • That's really weird! Ages ago, when I first started ordering stuff online, that is what I thought. But I took something back and they were all !!!!!ly and like no it's from the day it was delivered and they counted each and wouldn't accept it.
    Ah! Screwed me.

Are those standard rules? Or is that just for the 7 days?
If it's with all amounts of days, then the 10 day thing might just be still in the time limit, maybe, I'll have to have a look.
  • Take a look at the Distance Selling Regulations for your full rights when buying online. There's always lots of threads on here about the regs with some good advice given by other posters.

    Have a read through this.
The law, (DSR), is 7 working days starting with the day following receipt if goods, this would be at least 9 days as you will always have 1 weekend included.

Stores that offer returns above these limits are giving you far more than statutory rights confer.

No it's not like that, obviously it's my fault, I'm not saying it isn't.
I'm just saying I've been buying online for ages and this is the first place I've come across that wasn't 28 or 30 days, I've become accustomed to it. I'm not saying I hang onto things for that long! But 10 day's is no where near the same and I had no idea it was only 10 days until I happened to look, by pure coincidence and it was the ninth day by then. It took 6 days to get here (was over the weekend). Then I had work the last few weekdays, the order was clothes and I'd brought a lot, I ( and women in general :) ) can be really indecisive about clothes), so I was going to try them on at the weekend. Then it was the postal strike so there was no point in sending it them. It's not like I'm irresponsible and lazy like you make it sound.

    I didn't mean to, I spent a lot of money. :(
It's really bad timing, I really could do with out this right now.

I don't think I implied that you're 'irresponsible and lazy'. Most people who know me well can tell you that if I wanted to say that of you there would be no possible doubt that I do.

Fact remains though that you only have the 'right' to 7 working days to return something from receipt of the goods, as per the link I posted earlier. We can talk about what they ought to do on a good will basis to keep you happy , but if you're asking what you actually have a right to expect... well sorry but it isn't even close to the month you seemed to think you had.
