I'm a little disappointed with the selection and prices, but I guess thats because a load of grocers have suddenly sprung up locally that sell massive bowls of really good produce (inc baby plum tomatoes). Next stop is then always Lidl for fresh stuff, rather than Aldi.

I might go for the pears, but I bet they are tiny and not a patch in the ginormous conference pears sold by Lidl. IME packs of apples at Aldi always seem to have small and imperfect (bruised) fruit. I'm no fan of red apples but Lidl's 2kg bags of ?Gala apples are absolutely delish.

The big 4 don't get a look in! The less I spend there, the happier I am :D

I'm preferring Morries "Super 6" at the moment and only 49p.
Long may the "fighting" continue. :D

A very cost-effective way of living up a gin and tonic. Best to wash, slice and freeze whilst fresh.

JackieO - i'm getting the website up fine. It says that the current super 6 (all 49p) are as stated in Lyndsey's post #1355 and they are running from the 20th November until the 10th December this time - obvs to get the timing right for the xmas S6. EDIT: HOWEVER it is confusing, as it states; Available from Thursday 20th November to Wednesday 10th December 2014, subject to availability - new offers start Thursday 4th December. So whether they mean the veg, or the meat offers is beyond me. HDUK peeps usually post by about Wednesday of the changeover week, so keep an eye out I guess. HTH

Have a rummage around the Savoy cabbages. Went into Aldi this morning and the top tray had nothing but quite small specimens but when I lifted to see the tray underneath they had cabbages double the size.

The printed leaflets state December 11th as Switchover day.

Would make sense as you then have 3 weeks of Christmas stuff (Sprouts / Carrots) before returning to normal in the New Year
