Never really got the hang of rhubarb....is there any way of cooking it that doesn't involve a stack of sugar? :D

You could cook the rhubarb and mix with a sweeter fruit, like dessert apples etc to sweeten it.
Rhubarb for myself, nice crumble..................... with sugar. :D

My mum follows Delia's recipe, but cuts back on the sugar and has even just used the juice of the zested orange as a replacement: http://www.deliaonline.com/recipes/cuisine/european/french/rhubarb-compote.html
The orange zest is a good extra. Another alternative is honey as the sugar replacement (also not tried it but a nutrition person on Radio 5live recently mentioned Maple Syrup better than Honey - so could be worth experimenting!)

Peel and include the white root bit of the stem when you cook it, it's where the natrual sugar's are.hth

    Picked up some rhubarb today.

I noticed they have gammon steaks for only 99p for 2 small steaks. 250g packs I believe. Bought a few pack of both smoked and unsmoked.

Aldi was very busy today and had sold out of the pears (super 6).

I use honey when I cook rhubarb which sweetens it naturally I find.but then I use honey when I cook most fruit, apples etc.Doesn't have to be expensive stuff either the basic jar of honey does the same job in stewed fruit.or even at a pinch if I run short some golden syrup although I found it made it too sweet
I find that if I run short of something I will try to find a substitute if I can rather than going out to buy a replacement staright away.:):):) God I am a frugal old bird :):):)

Not cheap really as Aldi do a 500g packet of green grapes for £1.39.

Cheaper places are Sainsburys at £1.25 and Farmfoods at £1.

Only thing with the cheaper grapes are they tend to be smaller and mainly from India.
