    The thing is chucky how big would his mortgage have to be, to be offered that 40k? I hardly think he is in a good position, would you buy an expensive house NOW at summer 2007 pricing levels for only 40k compensation? At best it sounds like an escape from disaster rather than a windfall to me.

    you're right. i'm sure that there is more to this story than meets the eye...

    I do love a bit of bear baiting and watching them get all hot under the collar, anyway just finished booking my 14 night cruise of the med. Shame you all missed the boat eh. Excuse the poor puntuation. I'm posting this on my 32 gb iPhone.

    he doesnt answer questions, he's just posted to gloat.

    thing is its a good story and i'd be happy for people who this happened to if it wasnt for the tone in which it was posted and the following replies.

    It was very huge! But not anymore. Were back in equity....... For now

    ps. sorry forgot to add they all have a standard issue 80% cash deposit to buy a property but don't want to buy until they drop 70% in value ;)
