That sounds like a good idea although I would be worried he would decide to choose the dress too!0

Hi guys, sorry I've been AWOL, my laptop died but we've had it fixed now! I see there's some problem with the house buying Dinah, hope it's not too stressful? Off to catch up and find out what's happening...The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Only read up to page 38 and have to go now for now, but just wanted to say (and this may be entirely irrelevant by now) - I wouldn't let the money get in the way of a family either Dinah. As someone said, there will always be something else to pay for, and if you want one, having a family is priceless. Good luck with everything, back later to catch up some more xThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Hope you're feeling better today now you've slept on it Dinah. And like Lara said, there are plenty of other places out there. Maybe this one just wasn't meant to be!
Thats the thing, there aren't. This is the only house that meets all our requirements at all. The next house that meets most of them is £40,000 more expensive!!! Trust me if there were lots of fish in the sea I'd be okay, but if we loose this its a case of waiting for the next one to come along.Tete_en_l'Air wrote: »I was thinking about this as I was drying my hair this morning and had a bit of an epiphany. If NIM's Dad wants to make a £20k-or-so contribution to the cause, could he pay for the wedding and you save up your own deposit, then you'll be able to choose your house. Of course, this is if he's not already helping with the wedding as well. And may mean he wants to choose your dress etc for you! Just a thought anyway.
No he's said he won't be helping with the wedding as an either/or situation or as an as-well-as.
Weighed in at 10.4 this morning so that's another 1lb lost ... 12 to go, don't think it's going to happen! So I'm going to say 5 to go
I'm 9 11lbs now. No idea if that is a loss or gain. I also think I completely forgot to add last week to the chart?! Can anyone remind me of last weeks weigh ins if anyone did!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

I didn't weigh in last week, well I did but I didn't own up!
Shame about the non-moving on the money ... but houses do come up for sale all the time, you don't necessarily need it NOW?
Hi Bails, glad you're back with us, how's Nepal?Weightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
I've been watching that village for 3 years Tete, the problem comes that in that time only 3 houses have come up that meet our requirements.... and if its a house that needs work we need it pretty soon tbh as we don't want to move in somewhere else after the wedding.
I thought you said you lost this week Tete, but I can't find the post
My main issue is that this isn't going to change. NIMs dad does not seem to have considered whether £120,000 would still actually be a great deal for the area just a very simplistic 'I must get 20% off' type attitude - which is rubbish if its a good deal anyway! So basically I have to find something overpriced, but where the owners are really willing to negotiate, to be able to get a house?!Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

To bring it down to £120k anyway?
