Hmmm... what IS going on?! I'm glad I didn't post my to do list yesterday, I've only done 1 and a half out of 19!

In my defense a lot of the jobs are online and the wireless has gone kaput so I have to use the PC which is hooked up to the 37" TV which makes my eyes go funny! Ironically one of my things to do is ring BT about fixing the problem! I do hate BT though... I think it must be OH's turn to ring them up!

So, the update. NIM and I came home, and found our offer on the house had been rejected. We then spent over two hours looking at other houses in the area, to find there is nothing else that ticks all our boxes. From this we concluded its worth more than what we've offered to us, and have decided one last ditch attempt and we're offer our maximum. At worst we are rejected but feel we've done everything we can. At best we get the house. At the end of the day a smaller one sold for £120,000 in 2006, and to us this one is worth more as its a lot bigger, yes we're not going to make an immediate profit on it but we shouldn't make a loss, and waiting a few years we'll be okay, and its worth a lot to us as a house in the interim. Plus worst happens, we do have a 25% cushion!

My work are almost definitely moving home. It's going to add at least 20mins to my commute. I'm really, really not happy. Very much need to start the etsy shops off, see if there is anything there which could provide some income if I took a lower paid job closer to home. I'm considering having this weekend as a pure NIM do assignments/Dinah etsy weekend. Set up a few shops, sort out my photos and prints of my paintings and stick those up first, maybe finish that painting I started in August (!), and see where I go from there.

If you think it is worth more then it is worth one last go at teh house. You obviously think it will be what you want.

That is annoying about your work.

Oo, exciting!! Any idea when you'll hear back from them about the house then? I'll keep my fingers crossed :D Glad you decided to chase it a bit more, like you said the worst happens they reject the offer and you look for somewhere else. At least you tried. But hopefully that won't happen!

Urggh about your work moving. Sounds like a good plan though, setting up an etsy shop then maybe getting another job closer to home for you. Let me know when you've set your shop up though, I loved the painting on your website so I'd love to see more! Hows the website going btw?

  • So is the new offer going in today? Have you thought about looking for houses that are more in between where you and NIM work rather than where you have been looking?

They refused our last offer, and we are prepared to go higher as we believe the house is worth more than our current highest offer.

Ahem. Erm, the website is still there! Hasn't progressed in a long time, I can't build websites!

I'll give you a discount if you'll be my first customer Cinny ;)

Nah we know not to go past our limit, but its daft stopping before it when we think the house is worth more!

Tete (it didn't quote you!), NIM is hoping to get a better job in market research in a few years, which means Leeds or Newcastle, so we want to be in range of both of them. I don't intend to be at my job any longer than is nessisary so don't feel the need to be near it. Plus between his work and mine is Middlesbrough, and you couldn't pay me enough to live there! We're very much country people, neither of us like big towns. Different locations suit different people, and one of the villages over there suits us for the community, the tranquility, and the good schools.
