  • Woo well done Poddle! You're off the blocks! And Dinah, never mind - it was a big loss last week wasn't it? I've put on half a pound since last week so am back at 10/5 with 13lbs to go. 13lbs in 8 weeks = 1.6lbs per week = yikes! However, I'll be pretty happy even to just get to 9 stone SOMETHING, which means losing 6lbs = 0.75lb per week. Surely THAT'S do-able??!

On the homework front - I cut out the piece that I'd pinned last time, and I've gathered all my samples and handouts together in no particular order and brought my folder with me. And I bought a bit of board for my mood board. And cut my finger on my scissors. I might try and do a bit more pinning at dinner time and cut it out at the class - none of it's ironed though. You?

None of it is ironined, none of it is pinned. If we have another 'do whatever you like' type class tonight, I will be ironing and pinning. Mood board is a distant dream, my book is out of date and a state.

  • Did you finish cutting out the pattern though? That's a start! :) Yeah hopefully it'll be another one of those classes. Oh god Dinah, I found the fabric section of Hobbycraft last night - they're all so nice!!! Going to make a dress for project 2 I think so might get my fabric from there. Even though it'll probably cost more than just going out and buying a new dress!

You sound fed up! Are you feeling better today? I'm sure your boss will get over it soon!

Thanks for updating - yay! You're still averaging 2lbs a week which is super good! So I definitely think 0.75lb is possible Tete :D

Yeah thats where I got a load of my samples from, they have some lovely things but they tend to be around £9.99 a metre which is crazy! Was thinking I could go there and pick some material, write down whose it was then google for a cheaper company?!

If you want special fabric, order some samples off here, absolutely stunning

ETA: I think they might be designed to be curtain fabrics, but a lot of them are just really fine silks and I'd see nothing wrong with using them for a bit of detail on a dress. Stocked by 3 shops in our area as well (all interiors shops!)

  • Ooh, might order some - if only for my mood board :D

ETA - not bothered about them being curtains - I'm still scouring ebay and charity shops for 70s curtains to be turned into a skirt!

Trust me, you get some of those samples you'll fall in love. They are the most gorgeous fabrics I've ever seen. The new kitchen I'm planning for the house we haven't even put an offer in on yet alone had it accepted, I can picture making some gorgeous panels for the walls from those. Don't think I could afford enough of the fabric to make full curtains - looks very expensive!

Well done on the loss Poddle! I'll be weighing in next week since this is my start week... I suppose I'd better start watching what I eat now! I didn't go to WW last night as my friend gibbed out and I need her to take me as I don't know where it is! She's promised to go next week, she'd better do!

Mmmm... loving the fabric stash, so pretty!

I need a kick up the bottom to start being good on the diet again, being fine with my meals then absolutely pigging out on the chocolate in between!
