Hello!!! I have returned! I actually got back on Wednesday morning but our internet at home is playing up (probably gone into shock from not being used for 2 weeks!) so I had to wait until yesterday to get online and in between trying to catch up on what I’d missed (you don’t half natter on, there was loads!!!) and catching up with work I didn’t get a chance to post!
Holiday was brilliant; I didn’t want to come home! We can’t wait to get married there now! We’ve decided that we’re going to have a week in the Dominican and get married then scoot across to Florida for 2 weeks of Disneytastic fun, OH agreed once I told him about the Star Wars ride, the Indiana Jones show and the new Harry Potter land at Universal Studios! Eeek, I’m so excited I can’t wait to book everything! And then start worrying about where they money’s coming from!
The wedding plans seem to be coming along nicely for Dinah and Lara; it’s getting a little more real now! And you’ve both got exciting house plans too!
I can’t remember what else I wanted to comment on but it seems like everyone’s well so I’m happy! Glad the flat move went well CMD and the bump’s good I hope?
Hi Bails, nice to meet you! I’m Birdie and you can always tell when I’m bored at work because I’m a massive source of the gossipy padding in the other threads between sensible money related posts!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Yay, Birdie is back!!!
Glad you enjoyed your holiday! Must be exciting getting ready to book everything - two weeks in Florida sounds fab for a honeymoon too. That's like a 3 week holiday with the Wedding! Super jealous.0 -
ETA: Well done for getting under 14k CMD!! Must be a great feeling.
Thanks Cinny. It does feel good to be under 14k. My paying off debt will slow down slightly as I try to save the money for the baby. My next aim is to get under 10k but don't see that happening for a while due to baby savings. Need to get back on to AQA as well and start earning cash on that!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Pah! Always the voice of reason!
We're going to price it up and see how much we need and if it's do-able etc, I think once we have a figure of how much it'll be OH will become a savings maniac; he's good with money when he has a goal and this is a pretty good goal to aim towards! We've got about 14 months until we plan to go so we should manage to pay a fair whack before, we might need to put a little bit on CC but it'll be paid off fairly quickly after we come back. It's not like we're talking £15k... more like £5-7k!
I do know now that I'm not getting an expensive wedding dress, it's too darn hot for anything other than chiffon so I'm getting a loose flowy dress from a high street shop and doing it up with some pretty blue beads I got whilst we were there, the beads are Larimar and it's the national stone of the Dominican, only available in one mine in the world so I thought that'd be a nice touch.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary.
