Went down to the football club today from 10am to 6pm.
Had the sad duty of helping to arrange a press conference to announce the retirement of a player who failed to recover sufficiently from terrible injuries he received last year. He was in a car accident in December 2008 and had to have nine operations to repair his broken limbs but his recovery, although miraculous, hasn't been quite good enough to resume his playing career.
Other than that, not much to report really. Bought a Tesco meal deal for lunch (:o) and that was it spending wise.
Tomorrow? Deliver 240 papers, do some shopping and write some articles for the programme before picking up the boys for the weekend. We're off to High Wycombe on Saturday for the football then the boys have an away game on Sunday!0 -
A cheque cleared today (hooray!) which meant I could diesel up the car (£35.00) and do the weekly shop (£37.78). Also delivered 225 newspapers this morning and wrote a 500-word article for the website.
Picked up the boys at the school run and had a chat with the yummy mummy that I seemed to stop bumping into recently. She's moved from my village back into the town I've just moved from  which tells its own story. Had the feeling she might be single after all... I don't know, I'm crap at reading the signals....;)
Wrote an 800-word article for the programme tonight and am just about to embark on sorting the desk area of my office/front room out now.0 -
Evening Mart!

Also, you seem to be a fantastic Dad and your children obviously enjoy spending time with you!
Lots of luck in your quest xxxxxDFW Nerd #awaiting number - Proud to be dealing with my debts!

Thanks Lolly, they're kind words...
Went to High Wycombe today and the team won 4-1 which was a great surprise as I've travelled several thousand miles this season and seen them win away only once ( and that was six miles from my house...:o).
Bought the boys tickets (£12.00) and a tube of Pringles each as a snack (£2.00) and a programme (£3.00). Had already filled up with diesel yesterday but found a huge difference in the fuel used. I'd stuck in £35.00 yesterday and didn't use as much as I'd thought I would.
Tomorrow is football closer to home as the boys hope to make it a win double with an away game too.0 -
What a day, absolutely tired out but ultimately a great weekend.
Boys won their football match 6-2 and move up to third in the division. Then tonight we won the quiz, winning £34 as the first prize...
Off to bed as have a 6am start tomorrow. Need to progress with other stuff to get life sorted now as only three weeks till I start work on my body so next three weeks should be tiring and hectic.
Courier job booked tomorrow morning and evening, have 120 papers to deliver plus yet more articles to write as well.0 -
Woke up this morning with a bug-type thingy, feeling drained with a dodgy tummy and a splitter of a headache.:(
Managed to do the morning courier job (just about), came back and rung the kids as normal then went back to bed and slept till 1.30pm. Feel better (slightly) so will take it steady for the rest of the week.
Will leave the papers till tomorrow and maybe an article or two might be the order of the day.0 -
Managed the rest of the day pretty well I think.
Paid my rent on time this week which is always a bonus for my landlord, put a tenner on the gas card, a tenner of diesel in the car and spent £4.96 in Tesco's on biscuits, butter and a few other bits and bobs too.
May stay up a little later tonight as not feeling overly tired. Forgot that my favourite TV programme Hustle was on tonight so hoping it comes on Virgin On Demand tomorrow.
Have £20 to last till Wednesday then another £51 to last until the football club decide to pay their bill or my expenses claim. This is bad news as the Virgin bill (£65) is overdue and services will be restricted on Wednesday if I don't pay. Praying that the FC will settle up this week as they owe more than £500 now....:(
Tomorrow is a definite paperwork sorting day and trying to get more organised at the same time.
Found out for the first time what a bonus a diesel car is. Stuck £35 in on Friday expecting to run out yesterday but I got to 5pm today before the light came on. Reckon I got another 70-80 miles from my seven gallons.0 -
Hi Smart Mart
Just popping in, hoping you are well. Well done paying your rent on time, I always give myself a pat on the back when the morgtage is paid, another month survived, chipping away at the debt, hope you get all your paperwork done tom. Take care!My debts at LBM (2009)Grand Total £161,983.77.(Incs everything, mtge, cr cards, loans)
May 2013 £124,080.27= £37,903.50 paid off WOW!!!!! Well done! There is a guardian angel out there! :AI'm visualising success, debt freeness, and happy days!:T0 -
Been a steady old day today. Got up, rang the kids then have been steadily plugging away all day. Did two hours of paperwork (creditors letters, article preparation etc) then posted some letters and two parcels off (£3.30). Chased the football club for my expenses which are now coming in the post tomorrow or Thursday and the commercial manager emailed me an hour ago and asked if the boys would like to be mascot again for free!! Normally costs £50 per child and when they had their birthday in November, he charged me only once but this time it will be FOC as they haven't got a mascot for the game and it's better to have anyone than no-one.0

Managed to pay another £43 off my debts yesterday otherwise it would have been a NSD. :j
Sat here on my laptop though as Virgin wouldn't extend the deadline for payment an extra two days but there you go. Were it not for the programme proof reading, I could almost manage with a laptop but it is the property of the football club so I'd be treading on dodgy ground if I went down the route of doing that.
Boys are coming round after school, then football training then finalising the programme for Saturday's match. If I get chance,I'll deliver 120 papers too but if not, there's no concern as I'm not going to the club tomorrow either.0
