Real wood oak flooring on UFH

Have a look at a product called Elastilon. This is by far the best wat to float an Oak floor on concrete. John
Agree, but the floor will shift, crack and split, 'real' wood flooring is kiln dried and if you heat too quick it will want to find its own levels etc: But thats what a real wood floor does to look original. Warping is the bad bit as the grain twists. Engineered is better but as mentioned, never 'real' looking. Biggest issue with 18mm + underlay etc (22mm), is the step up between rooms, removing the skirting, cutting down doors, but hey it will look great.:)0 -
If I had balls I would be looking for real timber for the new house but since I don't have the money to do it twice I think I'll ne sticking with engineered timber,
By the way the single plank with a bevel looks pretty close to timber. I would agree the 2 and 3 planks look a bit too much like laminate.
I think you should do some more research befor putting it down. To me it is only natural that if the wood runs from cold to hot it will expand and contract and probably warp.0
