I've also just tipped off a former work colleague who now works on the national so I reckon it'll be big news by this w/e!!MyUserNamesTaken wrote:The bloke who bought the laptop has now been interviewed by The Sun (according to the comments), so keep an eye out in tomorrow's paper!Third time lucky on WW I hope :j

As a bloke - I actually agree!
I wouldn't be surprised if he had broken some law regarding this and could be done for stalking or another offence under the Sex offences act. I bl**dy well hope so!
This twit has a lot on his plate right now.
I suspect he'll soon have:
1) no job. He'll be unemployable for a while as he's been exposed as a liar
2) tabloids after him
3) police after him
4) Roger Cook after him (remember him anyone?)
5) Family problems
6) No friends - none worth having anyway
7) an injunction against travelling on public transport.
8) a criminal record - if he doesn't have one already.
In fact I suspect his life will be a living hell, all for the sake of less than £400 - what a muppet!

OMG! It's now made The Daily Mail! Amir has definitely done himself no favours on this one. They've got it as one of their headlines.
Talk about revenge! What a way to handle a scammer, eh? What amazes me is that Amir's still denying it, even when asked by The Mail!

I think the Mail could have written a stronger story. I hope The Sun get's hold of it, then Amir's !!!!!!!! will really be put on a stick!!Third time lucky on WW I hope :j

I think the Mail's story is fairly tame because they have not spoken to the buyer. However, Amir states that he has gone to the police. I hope he has, to be honest. Then the buyer can hand over the drive to them and they can investigate the dodgy leg shots on the train, etc. They'll be able to see exacly when those shots were put on that drive, etc. Another thing, if Amir is lying (and I assume he is), he has now libelled the buyer in a national newspaper. Amir also says that he has been advised to sue the buyer for libel. Should get interesting.me4bargains wrote:I think the Mail could have written a stronger story. Chances are The Sun will now publish the interview they did with the buyer a few days back, as it's an exclusive - especially if he lets them have the HDD.In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?

It's been most amusing seeing all the people here who seem to think it's illegal to take pictures of people's legs when those legs were clearly on open public display..MyUserNamesTaken wrote:Then the buyer can hand over the drive to them and they can investigate the dodgy leg shots on the train, etc. They'll be able to see exacly when those shots were put on that drive, etc.
I can just see the case coming to court. They would effectively be attempting to prosecute him for not including the subjects head and torso.
I think it may actually be againt LU bylaws to take any pictures of people on trains, but that is a different matter entirely.
It may be that the photographer is a bit sad, but there's nothing illegal about photographing bits of people in a public area if those bits are normally visible.
Also, it is not necessarily possible to see when files were put on a hard drive.
If I had anyone's HD, I could put a file on there in such a way that all the evidence would say it had been created and written months before.0 -

Looks like it has now been taken up by ITN. According to that link, Amir (the seller) has made a complaint to the police. They say they are investigating.
