I did think of cupcakes - but parents might not want children eating things cooked by strangers & if the kids don't come, we really will polish those off:o:rotfl:

I make cupcakes for trick or treaters at Halloween and it never occurred to me that the parents wouldn't want them to eat them.

I make up little paper lunch bags with a halloween cupcake, a satsuma, some peanuts and a lolly pop.

If you don't want to eat the cupcakes if there are any left why not take them into your office for your colleagues?

    Me too!!
Round our way we only get teenagers who have made no effort to dress up and walk round menacingly just wearing masks.

Just thought parents are so scared now a day they might worry what was in it.

I'm not back at work till 4th Nov.

Some form of chocolate, and keep it in the fridge afterwards. Then it will be too hard to eat straight away (particularly if you get something with caramel) so you'll have to remember to get it out a bit before you want to eat it, and it will limit your snacking

Frozen chocolate bars are lovely, especially curly wurlies:EasterBun

And there's always a quick flash in the microwave if you're particularly needy!!

If we had more small children coming then I'd probably make effort but seeing as its mostly teenage lads who quite frankly ought to be too bl00dy old for it I don't partake. They only ever want cash which I won't give - no better than begging at the door :(
One friend had lads begging and asking for ciggies

  • this is the first halloween in our current house so i have no idea how many people will come round, last year i bought sweets and we got about 2. i bought 3 packs of assorted sweeties and lollipops from morrisons, 74p a bag and any leftovers i will give to my SIL's kids.
DF is taking our 2-year old son out trick or treating this year for the first time, so if i expect people to give to him i need to have some stuff in for others.

I dont mind at all if kids come round dressed up but where my mum lives you get the teenagers turning up (and they come round again an again) and just put their coats over their heads and grunt at you..

same kids come round poncing pretending to be carol singers.. they just sing 'we wish you a merry christmas and a happy new year'.. i stand there and say.. go on then.. carry on... lol!!
