Well planned, nice choicses every day and will keep a hungry family well fed.
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
The main meal plan thread is here - it's fallen down on to the third page, which is why you couldn't find it, I suspect. :)

Could I have your recipe for sticky sweet chilli sausage baguettes, please? I'm very fond of sausages (no off-colour jokes, please, anyone! ;)) and am always on the look out for new recipes for them.
Back after a very long break!

Meal planning is new to me, but this is the idea for this week:

Monday: breaded chicken with leftover mash and beans
    Tuesday: Toad in the hole
Wednesday: Chicken & sausage savoury rice
    Thursday: Mac & cheese
    Friday: scampi and chips

The only thing I need to buy for this week is some fresh veg, milk and eggs everything else is from the storecupboard/Fridge/Freezer

  • Well last week went quite well, only got changed to use up some uber rtcs. In particuler my bubble&squeak went down very well and will appear at some point this week by request.
So, here goes, in no particular order:
Lemony pork, with garlic potatoes and veg selection.
    Fully loaded cauli cheese.
Ham&cheese tortellini in a tomato based sauce
    Bubble & Squeak
Rtc pies with beans and chips
Fish Pie, (cause we didn't get round to having it last week.
I'll also be making tattie & leek soup. I've got stuff in for making up a trifle, apple + mincemeat pies, rice pudding and custard.
.......So it's maybe not as exciting as some of your delicious sounding meals,(and I've bookmarked a few of your recipes today) but we'll not starve.

    Afternoon all!

This week is another weird one for me - I've been away at the weekend, and I'm away for the next two weekends as well, so I only need week day meals, but I've been struggling to get enough of fresh food into my diet (I have an aversion to frozen veg sadly, I just cannot get my head around it to enjoy!!)

So this tonight I am going to batch cook this sesame noodle salad http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/database/sesamenoodlesalad_87103.shtml - the plan being there will be enough to use on it's own for lunches, and as a base for stir fries in the evening - although no doubt I will be seriously bored of it by next weekend!
    Monday
L - HM carrot & courgette soup, HM cheese scone
D - Stir fried sesame noodle salad, with chilli prawns and pak choi

    Tuesday
L - Sesame noodle salad (&same lunch for wed, thur, fri!)
D - salad with soy steamed salmon & pak choi

    Wed
    D - parents

    Thur
D - egg stir fried noodles with chilli & garlic pak choi

    Fri
    Away again until Monday!

How do the rest of you find it when you're away a lot, to fit enough fresh food in? I struggle enough anyway as I live alone, so when I'm just there for 4 days a week, I find food just goes off?

    Advice appreciated!

    Thanks,
    ohara
