I thought I had an easy week at work, with some early finishes and time to spend time with the children during half-term. Unfortunately, a colleague has had a bereavement and I am doing extra teaching to help out, resulting in 4 more hours teaching than expected. So I will be less relaxed than I hoped.

This week we are mainly having (unless I change my mind):

Saturday: oxtail & carrot stew, parsnip puree, stir-fried kale [oxtail started just now]
Sunday: roast chicken legs, roast potatoes, roast parsnips, broccoli
Monday: stir-fried rice using leftover chicken, sweetcorn & whatever else I feel like
Tuesday: veg curry, rice and naan bread (from a mix)
Wednesday: OH cooking, probably pasta, broccoli and cheese sauce
Thursday: sausages and yorkshire puddings, gravy, broccoli, carrots & peas
Friday: either veg soup and cheese on toast or a takeaway
    Mortgage started on 22.5.09 : £129,600
    Overpayments to date: £3000
    June grocery challenge: 400/600

Half term so booked next week off & hoping to try a few different things like HM pizza base, Beef & Mushroom pie, HM soup. I may also make a HM apple pie & I've seen a fab recipe for my men: Chocolate Meringue Pie, so if I can find a "23cm tart tin with removable base" for sale anywhere I will attempt that for them (luckily I don't like anything chocolatey so I won't be tempted) :o

Saturday – Bacon & Cheese butties on HM bread

Sunday – Brisket done in slow cooker, broccoli, mashed carrots & parsnips, roasted spuds, Yorkshire puddings

Monday – Pie made with left over brisket, onions & mushrooms, HM wedges, cauliflower & carrots.

Tuesday – Fish, oven chips & mushy peas.

Wednesday – HM roasted tomato soup & HM Pizza

Thursday – Macaroni cheese & garlic bread

Friday – HM curry (not sure what kind yet), rice & naan bread.

Have a great week everyone x

Sunday - Whole chicken in slow cooker with small whole onions, carrots, button mushrooms served with roast potatoes.

Monday - Left over chicken with jacket potatoes and spinage.

Tuesday - Shepards Pie with broccoli and carrots. Shepards pie made with soya mince so making a big vat of it to go for spag bol and chilli as well for the freezer - only three weeks before i give birth so i'm stocking up more than usual.

Wednesday - cooking cod and salmon so i can make a fish pie for freezer, so to cut down on cooking a little we are having either a bit of the cod or salmon with HM parsley and chive sauce, mashed potatoes, steamed cauliflower, sweet corn and peas.

Thursday - bacon and cheddar potato gratain with .....baked beans!

Friday - Old fave omlett {with any leftover cheese and bacon}, chips and beans

Saturday - Im going to make a HUGE pot of butternut squash, sweet potato and chill soup or my grandmas cornbeef and potato soup and have it with some HM rolls. Leftovers will be used for lunch on sunday and frozen.
