Parents evening tonight - DS1 is in year 2. His writing and letter formation is not at all clear yet they are pushing him into joined up writing. Is this national curriculum or something? It really isn't helping him atm.

I hope they answered your questions. Given that typing is likely to be as important for him as writing, I don't really see the need to push this...

I should have done a nice simple mind numbing course that I could do with my butt cheeks.. I really do think this was the wrong choice..
Pigpen - if you were doing something easy you'd be moaning that it wasn't challenging enough :p I'm sure I remember you saying that some of the stuff you had to do last year was a complete waste of time because it was too easy!

Toots - lovely to see you. Please do as you are told, so you can come home soon!!!

Flights booked for Orlando. Hotel booked in Orlando. Just need to book the hotel for the stopover in New York. Company credit card has arrived, as has my P45 (just in time). Had my first 1-2-1 with my boss today, who clearly hadn't looked at the updates I'd sent him, as I'd done half the stuff he was asking me to plan for the next week... Mind you, at the team meeting everyone was complaining about being treated like children, so I guess its not only me that's bothered by it

Went to the gym this morning and got very frustrated by how little I can do. Then had physio after work. She pointed out that my ankle won't get better if I don't help it... I need to sit with it up and put ice on it. I'm just wondering when i'm supposed to find the time to do that

jackywhizz - thanks for the Virgin intro... I've registered, claimed for my last flight and (I think) added the new ones, so I'm doing quite nicely so far!

AnW's mum - I will get back to you about your email, I promise... it's just there's this pile of paperwork I need to deal with :o

soappie - don't let them get to you. I think I've worked out what its about, but they haven't mentioned your name this time have they?

froddy - hope you feel better soon. You were looking and sounding so much better at the weekend. Maybe you need re-energising.

sexymouse - sounds like you're busy, but have got it all under control

pigpen - chemistry and me don't go together either!

Me neither, I loved Biology but struggled with the chemistry bits.

I've hooved and mopped the downstairs floors and loaded the DW and that is it.

DW emptied. Food eaten. I'm shattered... I got home early tonight, but I logged on to do some diary management and it took forever... I now have a headache, and have to get up early again tomorrow as I have a 7.30 massage appointment!

You like a challenge don't you? You wouldn't want it to be too easy!

Soappie, I should be on three stars please (I'm beginning to get a complex ;)) I could say four but I'll wait until bathroom day to officially ask!
  • Managed to do a HHI before tea so that's something else to cross off the list. I've also done the mealplan up to next Friday and the Asda online shop with free delivery.:j

Think I'll go and tackle at least some of the kitchen.

mummy2mygirls....just noticed on your signature that you're expecting No. 4. Huge congratulations to you!

Toots....glad to hear you're resting. Look after yourself hun. x

Hex...DD1 is in year 2 as well and at the school she is at they do joined up writing as soon as they can write. My friends DS is struggling with it too though and the school are supporting him with practicing his letters and leaving the joined up writing. She finds that he can't cope with too much letter practice and has to do 5 minutes of practice at a time with him. Anymore and he just can't concentrate. They did say at our parents evening that there is a big difference between Years 1 and 2 and that some of them do find it quite hard. DD1 is ok with her letters and her writing but gets a bit jumbled with her maths. She writes her 10's and units the wrong way round a lot and it just takes her a bit longer to work things out.

Enjoy your massage tomorrow Greenbee....you've just reminded me...I've got a facial I need to book.

Anyway...this is not getting the kitchen tidied. Will tidy up and head for bed. See you all tomorrow.

laptop isn't wireless... but I had planned on watching a DVD with my feet up this evening. Somehow it didn't quite work out like that!

Dehumidifier is full again, so I need to empty it and then tidy up in the kitchen before heading off to bed...

No, the paper hasn't mentioned me but the g*ts adding their online comments have - by name as well as organisation this time!

And I'm ordering you to put that ankle up and rest it! You can still surf the net at the same time you know...

I have had a successful meeting. I have sent a fairly long email to head of transport about inappropriate and confusing signage re roadworks in the area along with evidential photographs. And I cooked steak for my tea (well, it was in the freezer!). And I washed up. I'm now off to bed as soon as I've done the stars on Toots' behalf
