Anyone use Canadian Affairs?

    I've used Canadian Affair a few times to Montreal (YUL) from LGW and MAN.

    Canadian Affair flights are operated by Thomas Cook and Air Transat (a large Canadian charter airline that sells its own packages and flights). If you're booking with Canadian Affair, your order of preference should be the Thomas Cook Boeing 757, the Thomas Cook A330 and lastly the Air Transat A310 or A330.

    The Thomas Cook 757 is configured in a single economy class cabin, but is equipped with leather seats and a very comfortable 35" legroom, which is unprecedented in any full service or chartered airline trans-Atlantic service. It is a "narrow-body" jet, much like a stretched version of the Boeing 737 you may have experienced short haul in Europe, so there are three seats on either side of the aisle and no central block of seats. I much prefer narrow body jets to widebodies, because although it might feel less cramped you'll never be stuck in the central block of seats. The 757 generally only serves destinations in eastern and central Canada. Anything in the prairies or west coast will be the Thomas Cook A330 or Air Transat.

    The price diff between Standard and Instant is £10 (£80 total).

    As I'm definitely going (and have the dosh ready) - should i just book the instant and use the £80 to book seats in advance?

    Sure. To help you choose preferable seats, SeatGuru has a colour coded plan of the Thomas Cook 757 here: http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Thomas_Cook_Airlines/Thomas_Cook_Airlines_Boeing_757-200_A.php You can also click on Air Transat to see seat maps of their aircraft.
  • Went through my external HD. Here's what the interior of the Thomas Cook B757 looked like in 2005 (although I imagine it's the same today as they've been using the same aircraft) when it's re-configured with fewer seats and 35" legroom for Canadian Affair.

    I'm not really a fan of t/atl 757s, they weren't designed for that range. If the A330 is 2x4x2 across, I'd pick that in a moment and go for window and aisle seats.
