    Good morning,

Another one without the benefit of the extra hour here. Ds shouted me as I went to bed (11pm old time), so I got in his bed for a while until he went back to sleep. He woke me at 1am new time crying, but he was crying in his sleep, so I just patted him and he settled. He was then up at 5am new time, which is a bit much because if the clocks hadn't changed it would have been the first time in about 3 months that he had slept until 6am

Ds is having his party today. It's not his birthday yet, but he's having a joint party with a schoolfriend. It seemed like a good idea at the time and his dad was supposed to be here to help. My next door neighbour has kindly offered to come with me instead.

After the party, we go to pick up the cat, which is not a birthday present, it's just coincidence that it was ready today. Os wise, I have ironing to do and I need to hoover upstairs. I'm assuming there won't be much time for anything else.

    Take care all of you.
  • Morning all!
I'm yet another with a child who doesn't adjust well to changing the clocks despite going to bed 2 hours later than usual after SCD! I had a poor night anyway so I'm stuggling to keep my eyes open.
DD's off to grandmas shortly so I have washing to sort and put away and still have the upstairs cleaning to do!!
Lunch is HM veg soup. Tea will be LO sausage pasta and salad. Need to cook my small basics gammon for ham sandwich lunches this week. Will be popping out to waitrose later. I have to confess that I buy the longlife full of preservatives bread but as theres only myself and dd a loaf lasts us for a week without becomming mouldy and the nicest I've found is waitrose. I then shouldn't have shop until we run out of milk which will hopefully be thursday.
Right better go and get a shower and then get dd sorted.
Hugs to all that would like one.

A lovely sunny start to the day here in Essex. Will try to get a couple of loads of washing on the line (hope my grandmothers in heaven are not watching - washing on the line on a Sunday was always a no-no:o)
Redruby - I hope and pray that your move goes better than mine has/is. I sold this house in the first week of April and we are still waiting for an exchange/completion date......
Essex - I will probably take my springy-spangles down to Goldhanger and walk along the seawall towards Tollesbury. Not sure what the tide is up to today, must go check.... Do you find the SAD lamps work? This will be my first winter without Anti-Dep's (long story:rolleyes:) and I've never been very good with winter...
Donnygal - I envy you down there in the warmth. My joints don't like the cold damp weather either. Will give the meatballs a try though - sounds delish
Mioliere - what a very French thing to do! How lovely to be welcomed into your new village. Can't imagine it ever happening over here:rolleyes:

I am feeling much better after my enforced day of rest yesterday. Heart has stopped fluttering and thumping and I had a good night's sleep. Plans for today therefore are simply to get the ironing done (accompanied by The Archers), pop a joint of roast pork in the oven (why doesn't it go crispy in the Remoska - I begrudge putting the oven on nowadays) and simply 'be'. No point gardening as it's all packed up ready to move. Likewise all my sewing and crafting bits - in a box somewhere!

Hope you all have a peaceful Sunday
Jayne and little George - still sending thoughts and prayers your way

    Morning All

I really dislike this time-change - i always find it really get me down when DD wakes at 6 as usual but the clock only says 5 - so this year i didn't put the clock back until 8am and it was fine...why didn'ti just do that years ago???

Anyway... had a pretty good day yesterday quite relaxing in a 'pottering' kind of way. For a couple of weeks my relationship with my best friend has been a little strained - we never had a falling out as such but she was a bit miffed over something which was beyond my control and our friendship had 'cooled'. Yesterday she had a bit of a crisis and the first place she came was here and she ended up staying for tea and we had a little drink last night so hopefully that's us back on track.

Roast beef for us today will do roast spuds and veg and yorkshire puds with it and i've made the base of a cheesecake using some butter, sugar and the hobnobs i made the other day that i forgot to put the sugar in!

No 1 son is at work this evening (4pm-11:45pm) and i have volunteered to collect him as well as take him as i'm not working tomorrow (these things seem like such a good idea at the time...!) and i need to pop out and get washing powder and dishwasher tablets, i've a couple of cupboardds to clean and tidy and thats about it for today I think.

I did make bread rolls yesterday (by hand) and we had them with some gammon that i'd done in the slow cooker for lunch...LOVELY!

Have a good day - and i'm a little excited about the dark nights.....it means Santa's coming!!

morning all. So mucn for me saying I was going to stop in yesterday - I got a last minute invite to the wine show. I only spent £3.50 so not bad considering the tickets alone were £15 each

today is housework and laundry day. I should try the flylady to keep things in order - we only live in a small flat but I never seem to keep on top of it and it's such a mess.

Also got to eat the leftover pie and pork jount today and make some bread!

    morning all.

luckily DS is at his dads till 12 today so I have escaped the usual waking even earlier problems with DS and the clocks going back;)
We are going to change all the clocks before he gets home and not mention it as he is obssessed by clocks and time...last year we had lots of probs, he went on for days about " it says 5pm but really its 6"etc.
Had a restful day yesterday, OH made me bacon sarnies to eat in bed and he did HM pizzas at night....no cooking for me for the day:T and we lazed around wrapped in quilts watching dvd`s then X factor.
Today I am doing a chicken casserole but we may have it later tonight...DS wont eat it anyway and we are going to Frightnight in sheffield later and have to go early about 4 as DS cant cope once in gets busy......it is a halloween party in city centre where everyone dresses up and there are rides etc...DS looks forward to it:D
I am another one looking forward to the dark nights!!!
MSD good luck with your dad
Molly41 good luck with work.....I got a letter yesterday saying I have a stage one review in 2 weeks....why cant they just accept sometimes you are ill:mad:
Jane and george hope you enjoy your day and picking up the kitten
  • Lillibet - I shall wave to you from the other side of the water then :D we have fields opposite the house where he is normaly walked, or down the sea wall heading towards St Lawrence. On Sundays we like to take him further afield in the car - today might be Bradwell or maybe along the sea wall at Burnham. I do like the Prom park this time of year too.

I definately rate the Sad Lamp - it took a bit of getting used to but I really do feel the difference. I am also looking into (when have a little more money) buying the full spectrum light bulbs. We have spotlights in most rooms & low energy bulbs in the other. I have read that the original low energy bulbs could be the reason for more people getting Sad nowdays. I would also like one of those alarm clocks that wakes you up with light but they are quite expensive too. Maybe in the long run it would be more cost effective to move to Spain :rotfl:

    Welcome to the newbies.
I did my Tesco order last night, it should be delivered between 11 & 1 tomorrow. I shall be doing more to my raspberry ripple blanket today & save all the housework for next week, though the kitchen has had a swish & swipe.
Thanks for all the kind comment yesterday, I just hope hubby hears about his job early tomorrow.
We had bacon sarnies for breakfast & will have roast gammon for tea.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester
