I must admit I never took a great interest in the economy, it was a hire car and a fuel card.
What I do know is by the time I had driven 150 motorway miles, I needed to fill up.
Others of us who have had them have made similar claims of spending more time in a petrol station than with any other hire car.
Maybe the tank is small, but I am sure I put well over £35 in it each time I have filled them.
Sounds like it was f***ed.
The last hire car I had was a 1.2 3cyl VW Polo that you had to rag the nuts off to get it to go anywhere and it'd do 40MPG on the motorway.
My 2003 1.5 Nissan Almera does 38MPG in a "real world" mix of motorway + town driving. I find it hard to believe a 1.4 Note is a hell of a lot worse.0 -

.
I have had the misfortune to have more than one Note sitting on my drive, I also drove one in Crete for a week. I put it down to the crazy roads and my unfamiliarity over there but they are no better here.
Lots more co workers report the same thing with Notes and economy.
Great for taking the kids to school or doing the shopping run. Anything else, forget it....never again0 -
I am sorry but and dont know how you drive but I have a nissan note 1.4 and it does 300m to the tank, there is NO way that you are getting 150 miles!!!
I am very happy with mine, it has been very reliable done 70k in 3 years and never bothered me once, always starts first time. The only true fact that I read in this thread is the depreciation. My car was 10k brand new (when I bought it) and now after 3 years with 70k it's worth £3850 for a dealer (privately a little more). Of course the other side of the coin is that if you are in the market for a used with lower mileage you can really get a bargain.
The Nissan Note is not a luxury car and is not fair to compare it with suchs and more expensive cars. It's obvious that if you are used to more luxury cars then driving a Note is not going to feel as the best drive. Like I said unless you are driving like a lunatic the Note is fairly quite up to 70mph, fairly spacious for the car type and the fuel consumption is ok. Servicing has been around £250 which is not too bad at all, and insurance is also low.0
