I am looking to buy a new Nissan Note Visia 1.4 16v in red.

Does anyone have any experiences of this vehicle.

A friend of mine said get any colour expect red because all red cars thoughout the world faid to pink because of a global paint flaw - is this right or is the friend just putting me of for some reason?

Your friend is talking through his rear orifice, some makers did have problems with fading red paint, notably Vauxhall.

My neighbour has an R reg Nissan Primera, bright red, it looks like the day it left the factory.
  • Actually, historically speaking this is very true as red was always a 'flat' paint. Metallic reds faired better but pretty much all colours these days are ok.

we bought a new red Note Acenta 1.5dCi six months ago and are very happy with it. It can carry us and three teenage boys in comfort and luggage for a weeks holiday. I am 6'3".

You may find the Visia a bit short on gadgets.

The only issue is the stupid space saving spare wheel

It was to do with oxidisation of the element in the paint that made it red - possible lead IIRC.

    Is it ok now then
  • A top of the range V6 45 driven onto a forecourt will get about £650 part ex. Yours doesn't run and well be worth scrap, so why not sell the parts and forget about the £2000?

Between 8 and 10 years old and the scheme is by way of part ex. Have Nissan actually offered you £2000?

Just be aware of the residuals on Nissan Notes. If you are happy to keep the car its fine. But if you want to trade it in its worth ITRO 35-40% of its initial value after 3 years. However it is a great car. Red cars dont fade to pink since about.......1998 I think (feel free to correct) except Vauxhall.

Yah that is the one. Very smooth. She loves it :) Both her other cars she had from 11 years from new so she's not worried about resale price (but she was still a bit emotional about letter her R reg Peugeot 306 go for scrappage lol!!!). I guess the OP should worry about that if they like to swap cars.
