I don't seem to be doing much OS the past few days apart from the usual washing (where does it all come from) I did make a casserole on Wednesday with loads of veg in it, and last night we had mushroom omelettes to use up the musrooms that didn't go into the casserole. I still haven't decided what we're having tonight
We had bought a couple of low-fat ready meals earlier in the week for DS to bung in the oven when he got in from college, but the first evening he ate out with friends and the second he brought some food in with him, so I though DH and I had better have the ready meals oursevles, but I found they are out of date now - only a couple of days, but I'm dubious about eating them! Perhaps I'l stick them in the oven later and see whether they seem to be okay, and find something else if they're not! There's a can of stewed steak if push comes to shove.

Afternoon all, just a little update. We're not having lasagne tonight, but pizza and I'm teaching some friends the joys of doing takeaway at home
We walked to Mr T earlier and picked up (more) mushrooms and a few other toppings and then we'll go to our friends a bit later this evening. So, the minced beef is in the freezer for next weekend when I'll definitely make a big lasagne!
Had a nice time today talking menu planning and food with a friend - that always makes me smile. Both of us are going to set up a "food scrapbook" to keep our favourite recipes in.
Otherwise, we're just taking it easy for now. I think it'll be a relatively late night tonight, but I want some sleep! I have a feeling we'll be going swimming tomorrow, and then MIL is coming over for lunch, followed by some light ironing. That's my weekend planned!
Have a nice evening, everyone

Hi everyone!
I should not be on here today as I have done absolutely nothing OS! Unless spending quality time with your OH counts?!!
My hubby is wonderful and has a lot to put up with.I'm involved in WI. amateur dramatics etc and also have lots of evening meetings at work. My OH on the other hand is happy to lead a quiet life apart from mostly working 7 days a week. He also cooks and cleans as much if not more than I do.
So I have brought him away for a "spur of the moment" night away in Scarborough. Managed to find a deal on t'internet last night and after a lazy breakfast made our way up here.
We've had a lovely walk on the seafront and eaten fish & chips out of paper!! I suppose that's more OS than eating in McD or Starbucks?!!
Got free wifi and there's even a little indoor pool so may have a dip soon. Going for a 2 for 1 italian meal later. So not all bad?!
See you soon.
Karen

Hi Guys,
Glad people seem to be having a good day today.
I went to my group and it was so good. Its the last week next week and thought I might bake a cake if Im up to it - although I need lots of help. Its halfterm so will getDS3 to help!!! I think we will all arrange to meet up again, perhaps before christmas.
Apart from roasting some squash and pumpkin I have done no OS. My kids dad has done loads for which Im truly grateful. He has done the ironing and planted some bulbs.
Have a lovely evening,
MollyI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Fingers crossed for your OH Hester. x
Hope you have a lovely time Kazzaw. x
Have just stuck the baked potatoes in the oven to have with leftover bolognese from last night and coleslaw with HG salad and HG tomatoes.
Unfortunately I have had to sample the lemon drizzle cake, chocolate brownies and carrot cake I made so I'm not in the least bit hungry.;):D
OH has nearly finished the fireplace and I've spent the day getting the house ready for the girlies return. I sorted their room, cleaned the beds and stencilled a daisy chain accross their wall. Also made them a welcome home banner. Can you tell I've missed them? :rotfl:
OH has just poured me a large brandy in my new (charity shop) glasses and I'm going to settle down to watch Strictly and then will have a long soak with my book.
Hope you all have lovely evenings

...Forgot to say... OH sold his boat today for a great price so that's the end to that particular nautical interlude and a lovely boost to the bank account for Christmas. :T0 -
Evening all
Well the sun did come out here for a bit, rain stopped but it's been blowing a gale all day! I can't believe it's dark already, and the clocks haven't gone back yet!!
I didn't meet my friends, one was working and the other didn't have her car so couldn't meet me. So I went visiting. Arrived at my parents just in time for lunchso had some food there. Think my parents are missing me as they kept bringing out food/drink items only I like from the cupboards and telling me to take it home! Thing is I cleared the cupboards of all my food things when I moved out  lol.
I then went to my nan's. Mid cup of coffee my uncle, aunt and 2 cousins turned up. So had catch up with them. Then went to Mr T's on way home and managed to use the £5 off £30 spend in Somerfield voucher from The Sun in thereso my 16 loo rolls were free :rotfl:I got lots of bargains too, but it took 3 trips up the 6 flights of stairs to my flat!
I had quick snack of HM nachos when I got in so will probably just have cheese and biscuits later.
It's quite chilly here tonight, but I'm too tired to figure out the heating system so will snuggle up on sofa with throw watching Strictly and X Factor.
Have good evening all

Evening all,
Thanks for all the kind wishes re Ruby, she is a bit better today, still sneezing, with a headache and sore throat, but she is no worse, which is great, have been making her drink lots of Vitamin c rich drinks, and she has eaten a bit tonight.
Been raining here most of the day, brightened up a bit this afternoon, so shoved the washing on the line for an hour, got it mostly dry.
OH and I took little dog for a walk through the woods, very muddy but nice, just had a steak sandwich for tea, going to watch x factor with a glass of wine.
Kazzaw, enjoy your night away, (enjoyed the scrabble game, I think you may be a hustler though, well played :T)
Celyn, do a 'tru' on him worked for me
Haribo, I bet you cant wait to see your girlies x
Have good evenings all x0 -
Good evening chums,
well the tribe helped to make my butterfly cakes vanish, and also a good wedge of sponge cake.I also made some chocolate blancmange that seems to have taken a bashing as well, but hey, thats what Grannies are for isn't it.
Blasted joints aren't much better, and can't take anything else until around 11.30.p.m. I think I could do with a drop of WD40 on my shoulder at the moment.Still perhaps once I have had a read in bed it might ease up a bit. a bit too much dampness is the problem I think ,either that or I am going rusty in my old age.I shall probably be up and down like a fiddler's elbow tonight, thank goodness for my computer.
Tomorrow my eldest DD is popping round for a light lunch as her OH and son will be off to watch West Ham. then afterwards I shall be off to my youngest Dds for a late dinner. She has to work tomorrow and won't be home until 5.15 so I'll be probably playing with the little ones.
Just watched Robbie Williams on catch-up t.v. I must admit he is still very good.My Dd and I went to see him live in Amsterdam in 2006 and he was amazing .He can really get an audience going, a great entertainer.
right I'm off to read my history book about Richard the Third, perhaps if I immerse myself I will get a bit more comfortable in bed.Don't forget the clocks tonight
Take care all
