Morning all:j
Very damp and grey here in Essex, but the birds are singing and there is no traffic noise so very peaceful (however, there is never much traffic noise as I live in the middle of nowhere:rotfl:)
Re the house moving saga, we were told last Monday that FTB's deposit cheque would clear yesterday so moving day would be 23rd. That's right - it didn't! They are now saying Monday for exchange and 23rd is still do-able. Just collapsed in tears when I got home from school. My solicitor is pulling his hair out trying to deal with a particularly incompetant outfit in the middle of the chain (think over-priced, large legal dept, sold to you via the estate agent amidst claims that using their own dept. would speed up the process, add in trainee, junior legal chaps who are only following an instruction book and you will get some idea of what the last six months have been like). Solicitor promises he will do nothing else from 9 a.m. on Monday apart from work towards exchange and to try not to think about it this weekend.
Rather worryingly though, was awake half the night with chest pains and a 'fluttering and thumping' heart beat. May call the emergency surgery in a mo to see what they say.
Plans for today (depending on blood pressure!) are to tidy the garden ready for the new owners. Hope to tackle the ironing mountain, especially getting uniforms ready for after half-term. If we do move next Friday that's the last thing I want to be thinking about:rotfl: I rather fancy the idea of HM pizza for lunch and dinner will be lamb chops (from the local farm flock!), with baked potatoes and baked beans (I know, but I'm trying to run down the cupboards again)
DD has a passion for Victoria Sandwich cakes at the moment so I suspect she will take over (couldn't spell 'commandeer':p) the kitchen. She is very good though as she will clear up after herself as well.
Hope you all have a peaceful and restful weekend.
Lilli

Good morning all!!
Well its rainy here too but I've woken in a good mood after a good nights sleep. DD didn't wake until after 8-bliss!
Was hoping for an nsd today but ended up inviting my mum and dad for tea. We'll be having a choice of leftover fish pie from yesterday or sausage and mustard creamy pasta. I have defrosted some sausages but need to get some more and need more penne pasta and something for pudding-I'm not too good on puddings so will be heading to Mr S for ideas. Nevermind we'll have the leftovers later in the week- I'll have to fiddle with y menu plan though to make sure that the meals that have been devised from my overfull freezers still get eaten.
I'll sort and put some washing on in a bit and try and do the upstairs vacuming that I didn't get done yesterday.
MSD -I hope you feel better soon.
Jackie-I hope the joints are improving.
Molly-I hope you have a peaceful weekend.

Dinner tonight will be HM Hawaiian Pizza and wedges.
Don't forget to turn your clocks back tonightWe have an extra hour tomorrow :j I suspect it will be an extra hour of doing "things" rather than in bed - but hey ho I'm all for freebies :rotfl:
Have a lovely day everyoneSquares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Morning all,
Thanks for all the good wishes re dd yesterday, she is still in bed at the moment and I will leave her for another while, last night she was either boiling hot to touch, or shivering, she went to bed in t-shirt, hoodie, joggers, socks, with a duvet, throw, and my dressing gown on her still shivering, I hope she is a little better today.
Wet and miserable here too, although its looking brighter over yonder, I have OH heavy work clothes in the wm, so I hope it brightens a bit. Talking of which, I put my hand in his trouser pocket ( he wasn't wearing them) to empty them this morning, and pulled out a large plastic spider :eek:I tell you I jumped at least 4 feet in the air, not what you expect to find first thing in the morning :rotfl:
OH and I have steak for tea, which I do in a steak sandwich with musrrooms onions tomatoes and garlic, its delish, and the steak was on offer in sainsbugs this week, dd will have a hm veggie lasagne, (if she feels like eating, she diddn't yesterday)
Need to have a good tidy and hoover round today, and mop floors.
I also need to get the mortgage woman to certify OH passport and get that posted to solicitors ( Lillibet I understand your frustration, its always someone else holding things up  hope all goes well for you)
Hugs where needed, have good days all xx0 -
Morning All
Grey and drizzly here in Belfast this morning although it does seem to be getting brighter so there's hope!
I do not have to leave the house today until i have to take No1 son to work for 4pm - and you have no idea how much that pleases me! On my days off i usually end up driving here there and everywhere before noon!
Todays agenda includes cutting and storing the 2 chickens and 2 pieces of gammon i cooked last night, cooking some rice so that it cools to make fried rice tonight, jiggle this weeks meal plan as i made it before i bought all the chicken and gammon in asda! might make a cheesecake with the hobnobs i forgot to put sugar in(!) and i fancy having a bash at making some bread rolls....and the water's on for a nice soak in the bath!
If the day follows the plan it should be fairly relaxing...things don't always go to plan in this house though!
Hope everyone has a good day

Morning all
It's wet n windy here in Wales too!
I put WM on last night just before bed to make most of cheap electricity so it's drying on airer in 2nd bedroom now. I've unpacked my case from my work trip, and caught up with some post and banking stuff this morning. Quite pleased that a bunch of flowers I got from a friend 2 weeks ago are still going strong. I thought they might die whilst I was away as I wasn't here to change water. 2 did die but the rest still look as new
I normally go to meet friends for lucnh on a saturday and a wander round shops, but I'm not really in the mood today. I'll go if they ask but I won't be pro-active and contact them! I just fancy a hibernating day, doing a spot of batch cooking or eating!
I have dug out the BM that my parents gave me (it's their old one, as they have a bigger one now) so I plan to master it this weekend. I also need to learn how to work the heating in my flat as I 've never used it since moving in. It's storage heaters, which I've never experienced before! I don't want to use the heating yet, trying to hold off til November. But I'd like to try it out just in case, to be ready.
I need to do some food shopping and visit my parents and grandmothers. If I go out to meet my friends today then I'll do my visitng late afternoon and stop of at Mr T's on way back. Otherwise I'll probably do it tomorrow. I have Monday off as a lieu day for being away all week, but there is a handyman coming to fit one of the window that doesn't shut fully.
Have a fab day

Got 20 lts of wine to bottle and a beer to get started. Gonna go shopping and get some joints from the market butcher man this morning so i had better get a move on and get started. Have fun today all and stay warm.

Grey cold day here in Worcester. My ds1 has gone flying with the air cadets at RAF Cosford. Hoping the weather doesn't put a spanner in the works for him.
Dd has gone dogwalking with friend and friend's mum. Ds2 is upstairs playing on his psp and OH appears to be asleep.
It is very quiet.
I have leftover roasted parmesan broccoli and a few peas which I am going to turn into a salad with some cooked puy lentils and red onion. I shall have that for lunch, no-one else will want it so they can have beans on toast.
Supper will be sausage casserole and baked spuds. Might make a steamed sponge pud or even a suet pud -ooh maybe a blackberry roly poly:think:
Really want to curl up and read my new book High Wages by Dorothy Whipple. I love her books and thoroughly recommend them.0 -
Morning All
Hello again MSD :hello:
Lillibet - def ring the doc but it does sound like stress. Our neighbours moved out yesterday - didnt even tell us they were going
N9eav - have heard good things about Apple - its the price that puts me off.
Have had a very nice slow start to the morning & think will be having a chillin day. Its not nice outside - raining quite heavily now so will be mooching about the house. Just about to put some bacon in the remoska for bacon sarnies.
Fish didnt defrost in time yesterday so fish pie for dinner tonight, not sure if will have a roast tomorrow or the lasagne that was planned for tonight.
Am not setting myself any targets today but may get some baking done.
Have a good one.x0
