Politly tell the dealer that the sticker was there and you have photographic proof of this and tell them the times and dates of your phone piccies.
Exactly. :T It does sound like a streetwise dealer pulling a quick one tho' harvey?I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
Thanks to all for your responses. I have no option i feel except to make the claim.Am very disappointed but am in agreement with pglci1 for the sake of a speedy resolution inside the system as stands this would seem to be the realistic solution. I would lov to stand beside my principles and make them take responsibility but the legal costs of this route make this option impossible. financially I cannot foot the bill . It is very disappointing and has spoiled enjoyment of my car but increasingly as you touched on pglci1 this is where our automated lives take us to. Take notice anyone buying a car make sure you examine beneath any stickers (but perhaps you all knew this and I was the only one who did not) Well i do now. Thank you all for your imput0

Listen...stand your ground. If you have photo evidence from the test drive which,on later examination shows the crack then simply write to the dealer, recorded, telling him that you beleive that the crack was there when the car was sold and that if he doesnt arrange for repairs, you will pursue the matter via the small claims court. He can then arrange for a windscreen co to come fix it or if he doesnt, simply have it done yourself, keep the bill and file a claim at moneyclaim on line (courts service). Simple...kapeesh..?0

In post#3 you told us you didn't want to drive the 35 miles to the dealer to resolve this, now you say you are going to pay out yourself!
It will be far more than the cost of a 70 mile round trip to pay for a new windscreen.
The garage have accepted responsibility by agreeing to pay the excess, so stick to your guns and get them to sort this out to your satisfaction.0 -
Qentin thank s for your reply. the decision to use whatever money I can find to replace windscreen has no bearing at all relative to the cost of the round trip I would have to take .These are separate issues in my mind. My problem with the trip has more to do with the fact that I always avoid driving whenever poss most particularly motorway driving. .Allow me to reiterate what have already posted. Dealer has verbally by phone agreed to pay excess. I asked him to email this commitment and he has not.I do not want to committ fraud yes would rather be in debt than do so. Not a luxury to own a value but who I am hence a very sleepless night.0
