I was wondering how much it cost to feed your dog on a daily basis. It cost about 55p to feed my 20kg dog, on it's recommended daily amount. I think this is reasonable but its all the toys and bits and bobs that costs me more.

If your thinking weekly, about £30 a week for all my dogs. But I love them all to bitsTheres 2 types of horse owner, a person who owns a horse and a horsey person

Roughly 70p a day for each dog - one 33kg and the other 28kg. They are fed on a RAW diet - staple meals mainly come from Landywoods however I get alot of bones free of charge from local butcher.0

ooh, I worked it out at something like 18p a day, I think, for my 12kg dog on Wagg worker - I am thinking of swapping to CSJ champ, which will cost about the same or maybe even slightly less! (http://www.csjk9.com/productcart/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=21&idcategory=6)
CSJ do some very good foods for the price - worth checking out, and they often suit dogs with sensitive digestive systems too!0 -

About £25 a week for a 70kg dog here. I buy whole chickens which I poach and he has that with mixer and veg.“Don't do it! Stay away from your potential. You'll mess it up, it's potential, leave it. Anyway, it's like your bank balance - you always have a lot less than you think.”

I get a 15kg bag of complete from a local shop for £6.70 and that will last a month for mine. They also have a small amount of wet with that which costs about 80p for 3/4 days. All divided by 2 large dogs = hardly anything 12p a day each?? Plus our leftovers which are free.
I get bones from the butcher free of charge too so they get a nice bonemarrow treat every week.
As for toys, I refuse to spend money on Pets for Home toys or anywhere like that as they are totally overpriced and have found that I can either make toys out of old things or find things in charity shops and car boot sales much much cheaper.
Old socks, for example, are great pully toys if you knot them together. Or you can stuff them with a variety of things to make a 'fetch' toy or a chewey toy.
Cut old jeans into strips and plait them to make good strong 'ropes' for toys.
Old teddies from charity shops at 10p a time are great for them. As are some old childrens rattles (not all of them though).
Maybe we should have a thread on home made items for our pets?0
