Diana - my choice of pressie would be a lovely scarf, practical and pretty as well! Choc and wine and flowers are good, but not if you don't know them that well I guess in case they don't like/drink/have hayfever! My first choice would be a book, but again they're hard to choose for others and a token isn't much fun!
Redruby - hope dd starts to feel better soon and doesn't need the tamiflu xx
NPM - glad Noah is much better and that you had a lovely week pottering xx
Donny - I'm NOT jealous, I'm NOT jealous, I'm NOT jealous! Oh okay yes I am! Glad someone is enjoying some warmth and sunshine though, at least we know from our roving reporter that it still exists somewhere!
Decanted the blackberry wine, tastes okay, but needs to mature, have tipped the blackberries into a pan and reducing with sugar and vanilla pod, will then do a sorbet or ice cream perhaps? Pork is all marinading in cider in the fridge, OH is going to fry it off with onion and then put it in the SC with stuff (no idea what stuff yet, think he mentioned leeks though!)
Kids have all been fed roast chicken and apparently that makes me the best mum ever! Hope they remember that lol!
Plans for tonight have changed as really don't fancy night out on the town, OH is still going out with mates, but I have to collect dd2 from a party at 9pm anyway and I'm at work at 6am tomorrow - oh the joys of agreeing to do your mate a favour! So I shall be having an early night with a cup of cocoa and a dvd. OH has asked me to pop round after I finish to wake him up as he has an interview in the morning! So fingers crossed for that, hours are much better than his at the mo, no split shifts whoopee!

Evening everyone, this is the first chance I've had all day to have an OSly browse! Why oh why did I pick a Friday to go back to work on? My sense of the week is completely gone to bits now. It feels like a Monday night, yet I don't have to get up tomorrow - argh!!
Anyway, it hasn't been an overly OS day. I bought a few bits from Mr M and it came to more than I thought it would. Dinner was fajitas and we'll probably have a little ice cream later. Tomorrow I'll make a massive lasagne to freeze for later in the month, and clear out all the old veg in my fridge. Hehe, it'll be nice to see how much further I can stretch the mince and make it a tad healthier with no one really being the wiser.
While we were on our trip, something about my DH surprised me. He has always come across as a real meat-eater, yet he had more than a few vegetarian meals while we were away. This gives me confidence. Already, I am planning some veggie cannelloni (I'll probably end up putting bacon in it but oh well!) and a kind of vegetable strudel that I need to find the recipe for. A very nice surprise, it was, and a welcome one.
Tomorrow will also be the third time this week I've had to buy mushrooms. I need some more. We get through quite a lot, considering there's just the two of us! Tomorrow I also need to get caught up on my ironing and we're going to see some friends too. That should be lovely.
Right, I'm going to read another chapter of my book, and then pick up my sewing for a little while. We'll like as not watch a film tonight which will be a nice way to round off the day. Take care everyone and (((hugs))) to those that need them.

Evening all
I'm back!! :j I've been in London since Sunday on the most boring course ever! I'm knackered so have not read thread yet.
My week was catered and although quite nice, I'm itching to make some nice OS HM meals this weekend.

Elfen...LW has got it right, Kerry is my 3month old very frisky border collie (picture on my facebook)
Kerry, or Ciarrai to use the Gaelach spelling is a county in the south west of Ireland, puppy is so named as that's where my OH comes from. It is not, in fact, a human name at all in Ireland, but very popular in both U.S.A. and Australia. Never thought about its meaning but will consult DDs 1 & 4, who are better up in these things than I am. Kerry is feeling very sorry for herself to-night as she is alone in the kitchen, the cats have gone to stay with my DD4 and her son.
Sleep well all

I've had a productive couple of days - yesterday my kitchen turned into a hobnob factory; made one batch for us and OH cousin who was here fell in love and wanted a batch making so i proudly knocked up another batch and had just put them in the oven when i noticed the sugar was still sat in the scales..... so batch 3 got under way which was then shared between the cousin and the dog (unintentionally!!!). Got up this morning and there was ONE left ...so made a double batch today!
I got all the kitchen drawers de-cluttered and the under sink cupboard tidied today, went shopping to Asda and stocked up on chicken an gammon and slow cooked two of each.
Organised new contract phones for me and OH and used a cash back site so earned £42.50 for each and filled in a registration to be a mystery shopper.
Looking forward to making dinner with OH tomorrow - we're having a bash at egg foo young.
Any ideas what I can do with 30 sugarless hobnobs?? i'm thinkng mix with butter and sugar and mae cheesecakes bases? Any ideas gratefully received!
