    Afternoon all.

Sunshine in the Land of Concrete Cows today, so there's a lineful of washing outside.

Other than that, I seem to have spent an inordinate amount of time removing black dog-hairs from the (beige!!) living room carpet, and, indeed, from Molly Dog herself, as she brought her brush with her this time.;)

We did the Tesco run last night; I had a voucher for £4 off if I spent £40, so stocked up on a few non-perishables. It'll save a job over the weekend, which is good, as Mr LW is on call this weekend. There's no way I'll ever regard supermarket shopping as anything other than cruel and unusual punishment though.

Hopping all those with colds/flu/other ills are having a better day.

((((HUGS)))) to all who want/need one today.

    Afternoon all,

Nothing much to report, ham on for dinner need to go to Lidl soon as they have some kind of table for a circular saw that OH wants so I said I would buy it for his birthday which is next month.

Animals are being a bit difficult at present, Kerry wants to eat cat food and Sile and Thunder want dog food....have never had this type of problem before, have now taken to throwing one species out while the other feeds but they don't seem to eat properly that way either....thought kids were difficult!

Ruby....hope that DD doesn't have the dreaded SF, although cases have doubled or something like here in last week, so maybe this is the second 'wave'
hugs to her and all others not feeling well.

Not very warm here to-day, think that heating will need to go on when we come back from shop, OH feels the cold very much since he has been taking Warfarin, so will try to forget about costs...we have 2 lots of visitors this weekend so can't turn off radiators in unused rooms....will do so next week.

Hugs to Jayne and George and everyone else who needs or wants one

Just having some crackers and cheese for lunch and grabbing 5 mins on here.
Noah much better now, just a cough left and tired. He has been dressed today for the first time since last Friday and we have been for a little wander today, first time out for a week. He has been really good company this week and I loved being with him just pottering doing jobs.
Redruby I would get DD seen by a doctor to be on the safe side, bearing in mind the weekend is coming up and only emergency GPs on then. It sounds like SF to me....what is her temp? Noah had temp of 39.4 a lot of the time and started hallucinating:eek:. If you go on the pandemic flu website with those symptoms she will be given Tamiflu.....I didnt give it to Noah as he is only 6 and was dehydrated from vomiting and diarrhoea so causing more of that wouldnt be wise.....the GP agreed and he has come through it with Calpol but if your DD has asthma or any other medical conditions it may be wiser to give it. Hope she is soon feeling better.
VastSarah I may start doing that with Noah....he is statemented for his autism/adhd but still have a lot of disagreements with school over various things, as you do:cool:

1,000 Posts Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Afternoon:)

Tesco are selling whole salmon for £3.49 a kilo. I got one for £13. I had it filleted and am going to slice the fillets into smaller pieces and freeze them. I also have the head and tail which I will poach with some herbs, take off the meat and use for something, not sure what and then strain the poaching liquid and freeze it as fish stock.

I've placed my butcher order to pick up next week.

4 free range chickens- approx £44 (they're usually 4-5lb each)
    3lb pork mince- Approx £8
    3lb sausagemeat- approx £8
family meal pack -2lb diced braising steak, 2lb minced lamb and 3lb minced beef -approx £26
midweek pack -3lb sausages, 2lb minced beef, 2lb diced lamb, 2lb diced pork, 2lb gammon steaks -approx £30
    Total- approx £116

Not the cheapest meat around although it actually works out at £2.63 per lb of meat which isn't too bad.

Well, I'd better go and cut my fish up ;)

Thanks Hun, her temp was 38.6 this morning, and is now 38.1, I have not called the Dr, as she does not seem bad enough iykwim , she is not herself at all, and has been flopped on the sofa all morning, she is now sitting up drinking lots of orange juice, and watching a film, but is freezing cold, then boiling hot, will keep an eye on her, but dont think i would want her to have the Tamiflu anyway, so am not sure if I should call the Dr . Will keep checking her temp though.

    Thanks xx

Edited to say : have been give a code for Tamiflu, but I think I will wait and see how she is.
  • The main reason I took Noah to the emergency doctor was because he had been diagnosed with swine fu over the phone but he was becoming ever more poorly and wanted to check he didnt have any underlying infection.......given the amount of infections little ones can have like tonsilitis, meningitis etc I didnt just want a telephone diagnosis for my 6 year old.
Just having a quick coffee, Noah has made some bread rolls and is thrilled to bits....also helped me chop veg and crush garlic for the soup.
He is off to his dads at 6 tonight till Sun morning.:o....I know he has to see him and it is only once a fortnightand it also gives me a rest but I do miss my little man when he is away.....it seems worse this time as we have had a week together in the house and have so enjoyed being with him...it is making me quite tearful at the thought of him going away.......must calm myself down it is only 1 day:o

    Hi everyone

Sorry not to post daily, but the house is so easy to keep over here, and washing dries a dream in the sun, so OS is really just making meals, if we don't eat out, as we did last night. Also went to a bar for live music and a drink or two which was great. October has been a really good weather month, just been for a walk along the coastal path, then called for an ice cream at a beach cafe, and had a paddle. Photos on FB in anyone can bear to see blue skies.

(((hugs)) Cranky & George, R-R's DD and anyone else who'd like one.

Marie - is your cat called Kerry? *giggles* I have the same name as your cat...do you know what it means as I've searched and can't find a decisive meaning.

Been kind of OS today, did some of my cross stitch last night and I've nearly finished the dog, will be doing a bit more in a bit. Went and got my free Windows 7 upgrade so that's been installed, and I even managed to get an essay written up so I'm quite proud.

If I've Read MeanMarie's posts right, Sile and Thunder are the cats and Kerry is the dog.

I'm open to correction on that, though.....
