I was hoping for a no-spend today but then found someone's taken my yoghurt out of the fridge and presumably eaten it.
It was a Muller corner one, Alabama fudge cake flavour, and I was really looking forward to it! So I might have to go and replace it - I need something to cheer me up and break up revision.0 -
Cheer up pollypig, its bank holiday this weekend!
Chick-chick - you big softie!! (im just the same though!!)
Purple princess - Well done on getting your debt down so quick, it ll be gone in no time.
And Ms_London, heres a hand back on the wagon! :T
You're doing so well with your savings for your trip, would be a shame to flag now.
When you feel like you cant be bothered to save, or make those shopping lists, or turn down that extra drink etc, just think about all the exciting things you ll do whilst away. Things like sightseeing and bungee jumping, diving, partying. Then think how gutted you'd be if you had to miss out on things like that because you cant afford them.
You're a very strong and determined lady, inspiring many people along the way. So dont give up yet!

Thanks dinkylou & pollypig!!
I will still be saving enough though, but might allow myself an extra £100 or £150 a month for a bit more social money.. I still have money owed to me (deposit on flat, tax refund, oyster card refund & hopefully bank charges but not counting on them) - so I know I'll be ok. I have struggled since I've been in London with money, so it would be a shame not to have enjoyed ANY of it through lack of money. Not talking about going mad, but want to do the things on my list!!
I've also booked 2 internal flights, paid for a greyhound bus pass & a 9 day tour, so I think I'll be ok once I get out there, well I know I'll be, I'll definately have £8,000.
I dont know, you have both made me think, am I wrong for wanting to enjoy my last few months here?0 -
No no, you're not wrong for wanting to enjoy your last few months.
But we know you're a bargain queen and so you dont need to spend a fortune doing it.
After all, the more money you have when you travel, the longer you'll be able to stay and do more things.0 -
god no  sorry ms_london... didn't want you to think that you are doing the wrong thing at all - you should DEFINITELY enjoy your last few months, see all your friends, see the sites of london (no point travelling to the other side of the world to see sites when you haven't even seen what's in your own country as well!) and enjoy yourself! Think we meant more frittering money away on silly things - like spending extra at the supermarket, buying lots of drinks, etc. and not on the big things - you've worked so hard to get in the financial position you are in - you damn well enjoy it girl! x:money: 2007 is the year to clear :money:

Thanks Pollypig & Dinkylou (again!!).
You are right that I need to watch my money on the little things, i.e. stop buying lunch & wasteful things....
I definately want to enjoy my time away and you are right that the more I have to go with the longer I can stay away!! (Dinkylou - I feel guilty, as I know that you should be away now!! Your time will come & you can enjoy it even more being debt free, you did the right thing!!)
I will be sensible, honest0 -
