  • I'm still not really sure what you're on about - but as I'm locked well above base rates on my savings anyway - and am currently looking for a mortgage - I'll assume this is good news, for me, which is what I mainly care about.

Does this now mean that Mrs Thatcher is no longer the evilist Prime Minister since records began now someone else has resided over a bigger recession?

Nah, she actually knew what she was doing, but did it anyway.

Gordon is just bumbling along without much of a clue why it's happening.

Wait until its rounded down to 0.5%...

Last time it was corrected from -0.8% to -0.6% so in reality it could well go up not down further.
  • This is the discussion thread for the following MSE News Story:

"Hopes for an end to recession were dashed today after new figures showed the economy shrank for a record sixth quarter-year in a row..."

    I've been Money Tipped!

I like bing called my love. :)

Itb jut seems before these figures come out, whatever they are people get very excited about what it will or won't prove. Now, while I understand it is more representitive than what we see and experience individually, it doesn't seem its going to change..over night, what we are experiencing. Not like things like the banking dramas did on a similar scale, not like getting/losing a job does on an individual scale.

Its reflecting the little pictures we all see, right? not changing them...?

I dont understand anything you're posting today. November? Is that some kind of bankers euphemism for "My wallet is stuffed so full of lovely cash I can barely walk so have had to store a goodly portion in my top hat?"
