As for the EU you can stuff it as far as the average Britisher is concerned,we can survive without you lot abroad taking our money, and telling us what to eat.

I can't believe we're still arguing about this. Hasn't the milk gone off by now?:p

We all have our own little foibles when we are abroad, and also when we are at home.

I know someone who won't drink tea if the milk was poured first, someone who has to put their left shoe on first or they won't go over the threshold, maybe we should live and let live, eh?;)

That is not the stuff of little foibles. That is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder!:o

You are joking aren't you? European Economic Community.

If your in a 1st world country in Europe chances are your in the EEC.

The EEC hasn't existed for many years. It's the EU now and it's more than just a change of name - it's a change in the number of adhering countries and of policies.
Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.

Really? It hasn't existed for over 15 years.

As I said, I wasn't aware that I was living in the 'EEC'. I'm a proud citizen of the European Union, but certainly not of the 'EEC'.

I know. And I know how that...bastion of society, the newspaper, The Sun refers to them.

Take a visit to most council estates. I rest my case.

Awww.. I'm sure the European Union will do just fine without you ;)

But please don't cry when you can only bring in 200 cigarettes and one litre of spirits from the EU, please don't cry when you have to queue up with all the other non-EU citizens in EU airports, please don't cry when the cost of your imports goes through the roof because of all the taxes to be paid and so on ;)

I wonder how The Sun readers would cope having to queue up in a Spanish airport for ages to pass through passport control like a third world citizen after paying three times the price for their flight as they do nowadays?

And let's not forget those holiday homes. Certainly no more easy buying of property in the EU for the Brits!
From Poland...with love.

Their
books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.
• Thanks for all the answers, I'll keep trying to persuade her it's a bad idea ! Unfortunately she is incredibly fussy and I've tried time and again to convince her that stuff like this is fine. I've only told the half of it as I'm sure she is planning to take one suitcase just full of food. I'm now at the point where I just let her pack as long as I don't have to do any of it because it used to make me soooooo cross seeing what she was packing and we would end up arguing and ruining the start of the holiday...
You need to put your foot down and be the man :D
