And another question ... I have the disk done, and am wanting to print either a picture or writing on the white surface. Do I do this via the "D" drive with Nero, or via my printer?
Just need someone to again point me in the right direction. Any suggestions well and truly appreciated.0 -
Loobeylou wrote:Many thanks for all the suggestions. I have Adobe Reader already on my computer, but thanks anyway for the link.
If you already have Adobe Reader installed, you should have no problems reading this pdf file, just double click on the file or open Adobe reader and do File Open and navigate to the file as you would for a Word file.
Not sure if you can print directly onto the CD, depends on your printer. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
Printer, if Epson it should have the software on the installation disc.
Well done for getting the file to disc.0 -
I have an Epson Stylus Photo R300 and it was my understanding that it could be done on the printer, but have never attempted to do so.
As I say, I just need shoving in the right direction ...0 -
You will have got a cd printing caddy with your R300. Place the cd on this. Lift the lid of the printer and you will see an attachment on the left side front. Pull this down and then insert the caddy so that the arrows on the caddy and the drop down attachment line up. In programmes you should find Epson Print CD. Open this up and follow the instructions to insert a picture or text on the CD.Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.

I have the drop down attachment at the front - are you stating that there should be something which houses the CD and then slides into this drop down attachment?
If there is, I need to go hunting! Cannot think where I would have put it.0 -
Yes. It's a piece of black plastic 12"x5" approx. Is it still in the box? By the way does your CD have a printable surface? All of them don't, there should be some indication on the packaging.Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.

Will have to look for the plastic insert. As for the CD's it states "new printable".0

Right, back to the job - have managed to put together a design and wording for printing in "Epson Print CD" on to the CD, have found the CD/DVD tray, and have lined it up in the printer with the arrows, as stated in the book which I have also found.
However, then when trying to print, nothing happens. I take it that the printer should move the tray into the printing position, as the CD is mainly out of the printer when lined up with the arrows.
Just don't get what I am doing wrong.0 -
Back to the oriignal question, if poster has XP & is wrting to a CD they don't need Nero
Just open Windows Explorer & do a C&P (or D&D) to the CD drive, then select the "burn" option0
