Am I supposed to suggest an Audi R8 to a person looking for a vehicle to transport their kids around? FOOL.
Typical German car driver stereotype are you? quickly getting aggressive and abusive. Appears so.
Read again. I didn't question your choice of suggestion for the op, the cars you mention are all quite appropriate and sensible. I was challenging your validation that you like German cars for their looks.. doh!
Who mentioned R8 or Fords or Citroens? stop looking in the mirror long enough to read the posts carefully.0 -
Lexus or Bmw would get my vote.
ML.He who has four and spends five, needs neither purse nor pocket0 -

I don't think I was aggressive or abusive - it's an internet forum! Hardly worth it, is it. I said fool, I don't think that constitutes abuse, does it.
I mentioned the R8 as an example of a good looking German car... Obviously.0 -

Just because you disagree with their opinion doesn't make someone a 'FOOL' if you don't know abuse then thats a pity.
Apology accepted. Enough said.0 -
I've got a Golf Plus and he's been ultra reliable and cheap as chips to run. They're halfway between a Golf and an MPV. Loads of room inside without looking like a tank.
He's called Vincent...0 -
Yawn...not yet another thread about which car to buy from you, this must be the umpteenth, for heavens sake, none of us can choose for you.
Each time anyone suggests something, you seem to come up with some excuse for not buying it.
This has been going on for weeks now.
Get off of your backside, go and try a few, buy the one you like.
You really are a pompous character. For umpteenth read 'second' shall we? Let me know when it's OK to post again.0 -
Out of the ones you list will be the Focus, theres so many about for good reason but my personal choices are not on your list the Mazda 5 or the Hyundai i30 / Kia Ceed with a very impressive 5 or 7 year warrantyTheres only two rules to remember1) Im always right2) See rule 10

What a completely pointless thread this is. You can name any car under the sun and some will swear at it and some will swear by it. Why people think that they need the opinions of complete strangers about what is essentially an entirely personal matter of choice is a mystery to me. For what it is worth (not much), the most reliable and economical car I ever had was a Citreon ZX Avantage Estate car. I drove it from Fort William to Southampton on one tank of diesel. There now, I bet you all wanted to know that.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
At the risk of being an echo, you gotta get out and test drive.
Try the Lexus and BMW 320d back to back.0 -

I believe you were the one who was disagreeing with my opinion.
The fact is, VW do design well. I don't particularly like the Sharan or Touran, but they are still designed well. Even the old VW's still look good. They are not 'in your face' and hideously ugly like some people carriers, i.e. Fiat Multipla *shudder*
I suggested the cars I did to the OP based on what they are looking for. The thread wasn't about naming good looking German cars. It was about suggesting suitable cars for the OP. I merely added in my personal opinion, which was that German cars are well designed/good looking. This opinion is not going to change.
I have not, and will not apologise to you as have no reason to. You're the one who had grievances with my opinion, if you don't agree, it doesn't matter :rotfl:0
