What was the reason for the phone not been repairable? Do you have it in writing that they may have broken your phone?
If it is under warranty it should be replaced by SonyErricision. If it is water damage, i.e. the sensor for water damage (a sticker) has changed colour then it won't be covered and you will have to get a new phone yourself. This is why i buy phone insurance on more expensive phones.
Vodafone should at least send the phone for repair under warranty.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
they looked at the battery and its fine, they said it damage caused by excessive force but there is no dameage to the outside of the phone at all, and on the picture they have send back its inside the phone, the man in the shop said it could have been broke when the engineer opened the phone and there trying to say its our fault, the phone did turn on when it went to them but they said it wont turn on at all, plus they sent it back with a bit missing which on the contract says the phone will be retured with all parts it was sent with.. we dont understand how they can blame us for a broken part in the phone when they said it has not been opened by us at all and there is no damage to the outside.
this phone was alot of money and they did not want to help us at all.
i am really annoyed with vodafone, shall i contact sony do you think they will help me.0 -
Is the shop you sent it to an authorised repairer of SonyErricison phones?
Excessive force on a screen maybe, but i cant see it doing it to the insides without cracking the casing. I would ask the shops for a complaints procedure if they have one stating they admit they may have broken the phone, in addition they have not returned all the parts of the phone as agreed in the contract for them to repair it. Have you talked to trading standards? http://www.tradingstandards.gov.uk/extra/contact.cfm?frmAlias=/contact/

Try ringing Consumer Direct, formerly Trading Standards. Phone number should be in the tel. book. The Sale of Goods Act should cover this problem as it would appear to be "Not fit for purpose". The company selling are the ones responsible.
