    Hi Ladsmadd

I used the tutorials on You Tube when I first started.

I found at first that I rolled mine too tight too and they didn't look the same, but it's just practice rolling them. Depending on how many times you fold the towel, can make a difference to the finished cake. Also it depends on how big the towels are.

I've seen some bath towels bigger than others, depending on the make.

I've used bath sheets in the past and find these a better size, but they're obviously more pricey.

Yes, I do that, although if I'm using candles or bottles of alcohol etc, I roll those inside the towel.

  • The cakes are gorgeous! You have all inspired me so much!!

I am in the process of setting up my website, do you all take photos of your cakes 'to sell' or do you have a general photo and say that the contents may vary??

Just wondering incase you cant get stock etc??

Would love to hear from you, thanks so much xx

All these towel cakes are fab - so beautifully presented and neat.
Does anyone have any tips about how to fold thin towels. I have 2 thin bath towels but just can't fold and roll them in any way so they look neat and well rolled - any advice gratefully received.- thanks x

Is anyone else finding it difficult to find some nice toiletry sets now that Xmas is over with?

Sometimes, if the towels are too thin, it makes them really hard to roll and look good. Have you been folding them lengthways, twice?

    Hi SallyUK
Thanks for your suggestion - I have tried various ways, the finished cake doesn't look too bad but the actual folds look a bit scuffy - not the neat folds/edges that you get with thick towels or blankets. I suppose it servs me right for buying cheap towels!:o
  • This is a towel cake I made for a friends 40th . he is a Celtic FC fan.
Contents are Celtic FC beach towel, Celtic FC rubber duck, white hand towel, 40th pint glass, 40th coaster and bottle opener. 8 bags of his favourite crisps beef n onion hula hoops and 3 bottles of becks. It will be cellaphaned with a bow.
