Well I've just tried getting an online quote from my insurer for both Stamford and Chelmsford. The Chelmsford quote is £15 more expensive.
So, obviously, the higher amount I am paying is nothing to do with Stamford being worse car crime wise than Chelmsford but probably everything to do with a rise in rates between the policy start date in May and now.0 -
Yes, rates can and do fluctuate between months for some insurers.
However, 'car crime' statistics are just one of the factors involved with calculating an insurance quote. Also, it takes into consideration any type of claim made in that area. That could include claims for theft, fire or accident.0
