They're not as pricey as they used to be.

It's ok to pick up the odd component there, but I wouldn't rely on any advice given and wouldn't purchase a PC or Laptop from them.

no, I definately agree there, my wife knows more about pc's, components etc than they do.
And as for buying a ready built pc from there - no no no no and no, it's obsolete as soon as you plug it in, especially if it's an Advent or Compaq one

    nice bundles available here:

I dont, It just makes me laugh how people slag them off so much its no wonder they are still in business  , I dont mind PC World if you just ignore the sales bumph and just go there with a budget and what you want to buy kept firmly in mind.

As said they are not that expensive anymore as they have to stay in competition granted they are still a bit dearer than online shops but the divide is getting more and more narrow day by day.

Also if buying a PC or Laptop (mobile PC) lets say with Dell you may get it cheaper but then again speak to India, Buy form PC Worls and throw the thing at the helpdesk or engineer, Dell can take 3weeks for a repaired PC to be returned to a customer where PC World may take 3 days with a Laptop as to a Desktop both companies take about 2-3 weeks return

So they both have Pro's and Con's.

I can easily tell you why they are in business, they are the only national PC chain.
If you only had Tesco's, that would be your number 1 supermarket

I take it you have never bought an Advent or Compaq pc from pcworld then?

So, if you read the first post of this thread, asking about advice on where to buy and where not to buy, you will understand why I am saying stay clear of pcworld then?

I have not used pcworld for years but still keep an eye on their prices, I will buy if they have a good deal on a good product -hence why I don't shop there that much
