Morning everyone! I've just got back from my honeymoon and am feeling ready to resume OSiness. It's nice to go away, but it isn't half nice to get home. :) A week in the Med - beautiful - and now home to rain and cold, and mealplanning :D That's my first order of business, to draft up a mealplan for the next week or so using whatever needs using up in my freezer/fridge.

Then, I guess, the house could use a bit of a tidy. DH has already said he'll put the loads of washing in from the trip (even though we travel light, there's still likely to be a load or two) so all I'll have to do is iron them later. We got home and had to put the heating on as we'd not been there and it was cold :( I didn't really want to, but I don't really like being cold. We're sat with fleeces on this morning though :D

Then, I want to read another couple of chapters of the book I bought on hols. It's a crime thriller, a bit like a cold case but more of a sealed room mystery, and it's really gripping :D Looking forward to finding out if my guesses are correct :D

Tea tonight will be a Thai prawn curry, as we've a jar of sauce to use up and I don't fancy anything too strenuous. There's also the dishes to do from last night, but as we'd been travelling since 8am yesterday, I decided they could wait a bit!

((((hugs))) to those in need of one, and here's to a lovely day.

    Kitchenbunny xx

    morning all!

I'll pass on the prawn crackers as its weigh in tonight at SW:D

Diva - glad the voice is getting better x

JackieO - good to hear you're on an even keel now:D

PP - how are the ribs doing? x

(((hugs))) to cranky and all in need of some x

DH and I spent a productive afternoon in the bedroom yesterday:p:D
we moved all the furniture round and had a good clean and it looks so much better now.
plans for today are - washing in machine at moment, iron yesterdays stuff, list freezer and cupboard contents for a meal plan. Clean at Mums house this morning. Tea is cheese and potato pie for me(leftovers from freezer) not sure about the others yet.

Felt sad for DS2 this morning as the job he was so keen on hasn't asked him back. It was his first job(he's at college) and he really loved earning his own money. He apologized to me for failing at his job
:( I told him it was their loss and not to worry about it. Poor lad I could have cried for him.

    Anyway I best get on

    Take care all x

CM Happy Anniversary you SSC. (sexy senior citizen) :rotfl: I expect your having a sleep in ala Hester. :D

Thank you, I may be clocking it on a bit but I am not a senior citizen yet :p:p:p ( as DH always says, I was a child bride :D He knows which side his bread is buttered;) ) I'm still nursing a delightful cold, so at the moment I look like I'm auditioning as Rudolph's understudy :o:o Good job love is blind eh :rotfl:

We're not celebrating much until we go away tomorrow. I have my volunteer duties this evening, and it wouldn't be fair to back out. Will have a nice meal though and there's footie on TV. Should get back just after the start, so I'm preparing a mixed roasting dish that DH can put on and have ready for my return. That's extremely organised for me isn't it :D

Jayne and George, special thoughts with you xx

((hugs)) to anyone else that wants one.

It was raining first thing, but the sky is brightening a little so I may chance some of the lighter stuff on the line, the heavy stuff just hangs there doing nothing. Hope you have good days, CM x

    Morning All!
Took DD to the hospital to pick up some meds this morning. Waiting in for someone to come and collect DS's old bed.

My sis and bil are coming to see dad today. Calling in later.

N9eav my ex-hubby worked at our local tip. All my family had TV's and videos that came from there. Nothing wrong with most of them! DS had a fantastic electric car. We wrote to the manufacturers for a charger, and he had it for years. I was always amazed at the things people threw away!:rotfl:

Pen Pin Hope your birthday was fab!

Looks like a grey day, so staying in and keeping warm.

    Enjoy your day.

  • Morning Guys!

Thanks for all the lovely PM's and concern. I am still quite stiff and in pain but a little better. Bruising has come out more now, so looks alot worse than it is I suppose. Nurse has been this morning and bloods playing up a little...typical when we are going away tomorrow.

DD off with friends tomorrow abroad....lucky moo! So just OH & I away by ourselves:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:....think I will take a book:D Have vouchers from Tesco for Pizza Express (never been before) and Cineworld tickets from them too. We are on a very limited budget, so every penny helps. We know all the cheap places to visit and are Nationa Trust members so have a couple of places to visit if I am up to it.

House is tidy. Cleaner here tomorrow, so will all be done for when we return. Ironing all up to date by OH and DD is now doing her own as we re-negotiated her pocket money and that chore is now included;)

Twink-Thanks for my lovely card. I burst into tears when I read it...I was having an emotional day that day:o as I dont generally do tears:rotfl:

Today I must pack up stuff we/DD needs whilst away. Everything out and ready to go but just need help to pack it.

Bought DD an Xmas pressy this morning off Hotdeals for a years subscription to National Geographic with a free fleece jacket for £15...bargain!! 74% off normal price plus jacket.

    Anyway, I am rambling.

Cranky & George & Smokey.....thinking of you all lots.

    Taplady-Thanks hun!

    Hugs to all.

Churchie - Happy Anniversary to you both! hope the cold gets better soon x

PP - glad the ribs are a bit better, hope you both enjoy your time away together and that your DD has a great time away too x

Tired mum - thanks for mentioning my DS. He was obviously worrying about it all night as it was on his mind first thing this morning. He is on the very mild end of the autisitc spectrum and I think he just wasn't fast enough(it was a waiting/washing up job) He does tend to have only 1 speed! He did some work this weekend with me at a posh lunch and he made me smile by saying how rude the diners were 'non of them said thankyou Mum':)
hopefully the right job will come along soon.

  • Good morning fellow OS'ers! It's been much too long since I've stopped by.

Still on the OS bandwagon here. Gave the flat a good top to bottom cleaning yesterday so today will just be tidying up and cleaning up the kitchen after tea tonight. :j Baked chocolate chip cookies and a peach cobbler last night. DH is now happy he has cookies for his packed lunch again. The cobbler was nice and we enjoyed it right from the oven with a touch of cream. mmmmmm

I've been busy on the cashback and survey sites lately. Every penny counts. I have enough points etc saved up to get a good amount of Amazon vouchers and cash for Christmas.

DH has been around the house more. The contract his company has with the council has changed so he's only getting about 25 hours a week right now. :( He was getting close to 40 most weeks. Unfortunately his contract only guarantees 25 hours per week. He's looking for other work either to supplement or totally switch to another full-time job. Definitely not easy in this economic climate. And whoever said they don't discriminate against older workers was telling a porky!

Sorry to whinge and moan so much.:o

Lots of hugs and good thought to ((((((((((((((((All))))))))))))))))))))

    Peyton xx

    Taplady,

I'm sory DS didn't get on with the job. I'm a firm believer in the saying "what's for you won't go by you" so I'm sure something he will enjoy just as much will crop up. It is so hard for them at that age though.

PPin, Have a lovely break, I hope your bloods settle down.

Bargain - well done to Spike.

Anyone else I've missed sorry, I'm hopeless at remembering the thread.

This afternoon I plan to go to IKEA for a bedside table and then to buy food for the weekend when all my in-laws descend on me plus dd and maybe ds and gf for some of the time. DD has requested Christmas dinner because she sets off on her travels on the 7th December. I am not looking forward to it at all.
