Free £5 Amazon gift certificate when you spend £20 (merged)

Spend £20 on anything on Amazon.co.uk, and they will e-mail you a £5 gift certificate which can be used on anything on your next order - offer is on from today until June 5th. Seems like a good offer to me!!

"Place an order for £20 or more before the World Cup starts, and we shall send you a £5 gift certificate to be used during the tournament. Spend it on anything you like from Amazon.co.uk--whether that's a big-screen TV to make the most of it, or a stack of paperbacks to bury your head in until it's over.
For the two weeks between May 23 2006 and June 5 2006, every time you spend £20 or more on purchases from Amazon.co.uk, you will receive a £5 gift certificate by e-mail to spend on further purchases from Amazon.co.uk. Simply use the promotional code which appears on your e-mail gift certificate when you make your next purchase over £20, and £5 will be deducted from your order total at checkout.
But hurry--this promotion closes at midnight on June 5 2006, and gift certificates must be used by midnight on 26 June 2006!"

Seems that you get a £5 voucher when you spend £20, but that this £5 voucher has a minimum spend of another £20. Atleast thats how I read it. In which case, doesnt sound all that fantastic for me atleast, unless your planning on spending a total of £40 on two orders...it might be a good deal. Correct me if I am wrong though, terms and conditions are a bit tricky.

So can you actually spend £20 vouchers already saved to get the extra £5 voucher?

Bl**dy typical. I made two separate purchases from Amazon on Sunday, both exceeding £20

Nope I would never post an affiliate link on here. And even though youe have to spend over £20 on the following order, it also means you only have to be buying something for £15, you can add something you want for a fiver (like a CD or DVD) and then use the voucher so you are only paying for example, £15.02.

Also, I order from Amazon all the time so I think it's a great offer, and it doesn't say anywhere that you are limited to using just one voucher per transaction :)

If your order isn't dispatched, why not cancel and place it again. Just an idea
No reliance should be placed on the above.

I posted about this offer in the Discount Codes and Vouchers board yesterday. See my thread for info about preorders (post 7).
