Hi, hope this is the right place to post, cant find an answer on google and get conflicting answers from parents, do I have to give the teacher and assistant a gift at the end of each term, ie for this Friday, or just Christmas and end of the year?
A few people have said get them something small at the end of each term, some say nothing except for Christmas, could anyone help please?
Thanks!

Entirely your choosing! You don't have to give anything!0

Do you feel you want to give a gift?
If so then go ahead.
If not don't give them anything.0 -
I don't normally buy the teacher anything until Xmas and end of the school year. I usually get the TA something small and the school admin staff a box of M&S biscuits.0

I normally get the teacher a thank you card at the end of the school year, and a little something. I personally dont know anyone who gets them something at the end of every term but know a few that buy them christmas presents as well.You cant take a step forward with both feet on the ground0

I'm a teacher and other than Christmas cards, I've never had anything
Maybe I'm rubbish :eek::rotfl: Updating soon...0 -
this friday is only the end of the half term, I'm a teacher and dont think anyone will be expecting a gift on friday. its normally just at the end of the whole term i.e. just give one at christmas at the end of this term.
and you dont have to give them a present at all - its entirely your choice!0 -
If you're intent on giving a gift I'd get working with your child to make something for the teacher, even if it's just a little card. Presents can be left until the end of term0

We've only ever given one gift, and it was soemthing small but really appropriate, and the teacher had really deserved it.
Don't start buying gifts every term, the gift for teachers thread has been done loads on here, and most teachers say they appreciate a hand written note or Thank You card more than any nick naks.;)Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

I actually always buy a small flower, usually 99p like a mini cyclamen or daffodil or something, for them to have on their desk at the beginning of each half-term; but won't then buy something for Christmas or the end of the year. DS1 wrote an accrostic poem for his teacher at the end of July last year.0
