Well I was just about to invest in GHDs - as I currently have 4 pairs of straighteners on the go - Wet2Straight wide, Satinliner and 2 cheapies, none of which I'm THAT impressed with TBH - which 230s are best? radiance/elegance/original?
Thanx in advance for saving me £££s0 -
hi i use these babyliss pro http://www.amazon.co.uk/BaByliss-Pro-230-Radiance/dp/B001J6XBI2/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1256055835&sr=8-7 i have very thin frizzy hair and over the years tried a number of straightners last ones including ghds and i would straighten my hair in the morning by lunch time it would start to frizz with these they last from morning till night.
used on thick hair has the same effect as my niece has them to, but my sister has naturaly straight fine hair but likes it poker straight and these do not seem to have the same effect as ghds to this hair type, hope it helps.0 -
The straighteners on offer by OP are GHDs,
I was recommending the Babyliss pro 230
You can get these for £23 delivered from amazon they come with a heat protection mat (which has saved many a carpet and hair clips.

I got mine about 4 years ago now and they are fab and have never broken, although I only use them once or twice a week.

I just found out that mine is the 2088u model and the one on offer is the 2085u model so both are babyliss230.
A bargin is only a bargin if its needed not wanted :money:0 -
The 230 refers to the heat that it can achieve, which is hotter than the GHDs so any type will be fine they are just the new an improved version lol

I bought genuine ghd from https://www.girlznight.co.uk £85 delivered with a 5% discount voucher if you go onto hotdealsuk, hologrammed, genuine, 2 year guarantee, always best to be careful and def no, the cheap ones come from china and are not real ones, avoid at all costs:D0

Keep an eye on shar beauty too as I got the wide plate GHD's for £56. They are genuine and are still going strong. They were in the sale on the website xx0/2013

Sorry to push this - i may be being thick, but all the plates appear to vary
Pro 230 - Tourmaline cermaic coated
Pro 230 Elegance (blue?)- Nano titanium ceramic
Pro 230 Elegance bronze - asabove but £10 cheaper than the blue for some reason?
Pro 230 Radiance - ceramic titanium with ionic steam
Total freedom 230s - Nano titanium ceramic - but cordless
Could anyone shed any light on this pls - prices vary from £25 or so to £99 full price for the radiance - don;t wish to spend more than necessary0 -
This thread has made my day - I have the Babyliss 230, and was considering GHDs - I won't bother now.
I have to say, the 230s are fab, and have variable heat so I can use them on DD's hair.:D0
