I swear by these, have had mine over a year, got them half price as i didn't have my own, so was borrowing my sisters, just so happened i was using the ones i bought hence the reason i bought them. My hair stays straight now from morning til next morning.

Babyliss Pro 230 Elegance, but want the purple/blue? ones now, just for a change of colour though!! Lol!!!

Would be aswell spray painting the ones i have as the OH says!!

    want the purple
  • I have a pair of 230s, bought them in an emergency when my GHDs broke after reading good reviews. I'm not sure if I bought the wrong pair but they are NO WAY as good as my (rather old) ghds. Just don't do the same job at all.

If its any help, I had the Babylis red ones- the ones with the little steamer on them that say they are ionic or something?

I took them back as faulty- the steamer wouldn't turn off.

I was glad they became faulty- they were no good for me! They were so bulky it was very tricky to get to the roots of my hair, they did a good job at keeping my hair straight and probably matched that of the GHD in terms of how long they stayed straight for. But the shine was no better the with GHDs (its what the ionic thing is supposed to do) and they were very heavy to use too. I'd recommend them for longer hair, but you need strong wrists! Not for short hair as they just don't get to the hair which is closer to the roots- you lose about 2 cm on each hair strand.

To all those who have had their GHDs break on them, you can get them fixed for around £20. Whilst you can send them to GHD I heard they weren't terribly quick and efficient at it, so I sent mine to a company that specialises in fixing GHDs and replacing parts. Got them back really quickly and no problems since :)

It is a bit frustrating when you pay so much money on GHDs only to have them break but mine stopped working after about three years of constant use so I guess I can't complain. If they break again though I might be converted to Babyliss...
