I got defrauded on my Asda credit card back in October & I myself have not received a replacement credit card, I keep getting fobbed off with the excuse that they are having 'technical difficulties' with the cards, yet my Dad received a new card from them last week.

I've had a card with them for 3 years now, I've never had a problem until now. Convinced it's because of the take over. When it was GE money they were English speaking & very helpful. Santander employ people with very poor English & they don't understand what you are trying to explain.

To top it all off I tried applying for a new credit card but have been declined due to an apparently poor credit score, so now I have to pay for a postal credit report 'cos I can't do a free one online as they need my credit card details, d'oh! And I'm squeaky clean in the financial department so can't think as to why I have a poor credit score :(
I've not been able to buy any christmas presents online, I am so so angry & frustrated now!
  • I'll give you a laugh:D

We applied and got accepted 2 weeks ago. Pins turned up 4 days later, then cards arrived this morning and had been opened with a Royal Mail tampered bag sealing then envelope which had clearly been opened!

Called Asda to ask for new cards to be issued and they told us to activate them anyway:eek::eek::eek::eek:....on the letter with the cards it had our credit limit and account details, so I wasnt impressed. I told them that I wouldnt activate them as someone had probably got our card numbers and signature strip numbers so they would use once we had activated them. The guy couldnt understand what I meant and his level of English was quite poor for a call centre. It was very frustrating, so in the end I asked to speak to a supervisor who spoke excellent english and she was great. She said to destroy them and new cards with new numbers would be sent in the next 7-10 days...so we will see.

Still no cards, so OH called them this morning and they are totally useless! Apparently the second cards have now gone missing, so they are sending a third set out:mad:

The level of English was still very poor over the phone and they kept asking for card numbers which we havent received yet:confused:....when I gave the original card number he said that that card had been cancelled...aaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • I've had 2 lots of pin numbers, but I did receive the first set of CC's, but they had been opened and put in a Royal Mail envelope, so we cancelled them as they could have been copied.

  • I applied in Nov and no pin/card/letter of acceptance nothing been sent to me yet they set up a direct debit on my current account with a 16 digit number, i cancelled this since if my card has been sent and gone into the wrong thieving hands then the direct debit could be taken from my account, what worries me is i have not signed an agreement or had any confirmation that i was accepted, so now jan still nothing no email/post nothing but will let you know if i do receive anything that will promptly be returned with a short note informing them where to stick it.... bad customer services i think all should complain to Santander as they are main focal point and surely bad management for them!
  • We'd had a Tesco credit card and built up a lot of points by using it to pay for everything. We decided to start shopping at Asda to save money and applied for credit cards so that we could build up points with them instead. That was in October. We received pin numbers but no cards. We rang repeatedly and recieved 7 sets of pin numbers but no cards until December. When I tried to use the card in Asda to pay for my shopping it was refused. It was very embarrassing!! I called the Customer Services number as soon as we got home and was told it was a system fault and that although I probably wouldn't be able to use the card in Asda or Asda petrol stations, I would be able to use it to withdraw cash. Do Asda/Santander think that people are stupid?? I was assured that I would be contacted when the system problems had been rectified. That was 5 weeks ago abd still I've heard nothing. Today I tried to change my pin number and couldn't do that either. I'd had enough. I called to cancel the card and Customer Services didn't even bother to ask me why. I'm not even convinced that they will cancel so will need to keep checking Experian. Shame on you Asda!!

Guess what I received over Xmas? Another Pin number! Just phoned up and canceled my account, it's a joke!

Spoke to the guy on the phone, helpful enough but told me that my card was sent out on the 1st November. It was another Pin number!

No misuse on my account which is good, closed for good now.

I'd urge you to do the same if you have the same problem. They simply aren't worth it
