Wish i had seen this thread befor i appied for my Asda card. Got my pin over a week ago but no card yet.
How about if you ring up and cancell it over the phone and get another one from another company. Is that possible?! as i think i will do that when i ring and ask them where my card is0 -
Got my card today so i count myself as one of the lucky one's. only waited 25 days although they do say they try and send it out within ten.
What confused me with the accompanying letter they sent to activate my card it said this is your replacement card. That's funny i thought as i have not had one yet

I'll give you a laugh:D
We applied and got accepted 2 weeks ago. Pins turned up 4 days later, then cards arrived this morning and had been opened with a Royal Mail tampered bag sealing then envelope which had clearly been opened!
Called Asda to ask for new cards to be issued and they told us to activate them anyway:eek::eek::eek::eek:....on the letter with the cards it had our credit limit and account details, so I wasnt impressed. I told them that I wouldnt activate them as someone had probably got our card numbers and signature strip numbers so they would use once we had activated them. The guy couldnt understand what I meant and his level of English was quite poor for a call centre. It was very frustrating, so in the end I asked to speak to a supervisor who spoke excellent english and she was great. She said to destroy them and new cards with new numbers would be sent in the next 7-10 days...so we will see.

TBH ive had my ASDA card for a few years now and in truth it isn't a particularly good card, customer service is appauling and the online banking function is equally poor. The only redeeming feature was the 2p/litre reduction on fuel - although that ended some time ago in favour of a 1p/litre reduction. I'm in the process of cancelling mine in favour of Halifax - where i already have their cashback card, and ive just opened an All in One - 0% on purchases and balance transfers !
If you're having that much problem... why not consider another card?0 -
I first applied online for an Asda card in August. I initially received a letter with a pin number but no card arrived. I phoned customer services (on a premium rate line) and they agreed to cancel the first card and send out another. A new pin letter arrived - but again no card. I again called customer services and they agreed to cancel the second card and send out another card (third). Again a pin letter arrived - but again, no card. It was now November, four months after my initial application and not one of the three cards allegedly dispatched by Santander card services had arrived. Due to my increasing security concerns I cancelled the card and account - what a waste of time and money!
My advice - avoid Asda credit cards.0 -

We are also long term users of the original ASDA credit card before it was watered down to what it is now. The account was going downhill long before Santander became involved so not all the blame can be laid at its doors. Just close the account and move along IMO, luckily for us they are building a new Sainsburys store between our house and the closest ASDA so guess where my next port of call is!
On a side note Im very friendly with our local postman and he took me to the side the other day and told me never to send anything of any value in the post as the local sorting office is wick with agency staff rifling through peoples mail and he hinted that this aint a local problem either. One card missing, oki, 2 cards missing hmm, 3 cards missing I smell a rat!
Ever wonder why its the card that goes missing and not the PIN?Credit card and overdraft at 18. 2 loans and 3 storecards at 20. University education flushed down the toilet through debt at 22. Car finance at 23. Car repossessed at 24. Rock bottom at 25. Learnt my lesson 26-33. Now 34 with a mortgage on an affordable house, a car paid for with cash and a bank account in credit. I learnt the hard way.0 -

They can feel the card through the envelope.
I'd personally complain to Royal Mail and have them investigate the missing mail. I've had to do this a few times. I don't know how they could determine if a postman/sorter has light fingers but surely they'd have a vast number of CCTV cameras.
Royal Mail is becoming more and more unreliable by the millisecond and I think the Government should step in and clean up their act. Bunch of incompetent morons, the lot of them. We’ve had to remove your signature. 3rd pin number and still no card, getting very irate. Even more annoyed that I have to phone their customer services and get charged 10p a minute, with a crap connection and people who I can hardly understand (not their fault) and they probably can't understand me! I wish there was an email address I could email to as I'd imaging it would definately sort this issue out a lot quicker.
I hate phoning up, I get asked my account number, I can't tell them as I don't know, they haven't told me it. Doesn't even say on the pin number letter!!!!!
what makes this even more infuriating, is that I work for Asda!!!!!!
*smacks head against desk!* :mad:0 -
I've had an Asda card for 3 years and had no problems till now. I have an Asda online account manager but cannot log into it now because as I found out, it's because my new card has not been activated yet, which I have still not received! Phoned up about it and said they had posted it on 24th November,(9 days ago), and it can take 14 days to arrive. God knows why it has to take this long.
In the meantime I tried to make my monthly payment via the Santander website...Put my bank card details in and payment amount, clicked "submit", and my screen just went blank, so now I don't know if my payment has gone through or not at the moment...more stress!!0 -
Thanks Karen0
