How much stuff have you got Beanie? We have small boxes at work that I can get you one of. It comes flatpacked and you just make it up. Im not sure it would be big enough though. How about a nice wicker basket? My local deli is selling empty baskets in various sizes for hampers starting at around £2

that sounds lovely Beanie. one of my baby gift packs came in a pink-fabric covered box with lid (think shoe-boot box). The other one was a wicker basket with a Broderie Anglais quilted lid, which we now use to store evie's soft toys.

Hooded towel in the bottom, some nappies around the side to fill it out and then all the goods on top?

Grobag Beanie? They are fantastic and B slept in hers until she was about 2.5

Boxes are £1.50, let me know if you want me to send one. I don't think you will get much in though if you are putting toiletries in and a grobag wouldn't go in. Could you get a cardboard box and cover with wrapping paper and put some ribbon on or around it?

Grobags are THE best thing ever. She can't kick them off like normal sheets/blankets, no risk of becomming tangled in it and strangling herself either and they come in a range of sizes (0-6months, 6-18months and 18-36months) as well as a range of togs (0.5, 1.0, 1.5 and 2.5, I've heard but not seen any that they can go up to 4.0tog).

And there are other manufacturers/makers of baby-sleeping bags not just the grobag company ;)

There are many cheaper versions but none other than Grobag are recommended by the FSID (Foundation for the Study of Infant Death) although I wouldn't be put off by others just something to think about

If you have quite a lot of stuff to put in Beanie, what about putting it in a baby bath? You can get a white one in Wilkos for a few quid?

  • Hello all

am cold again! going to buy LOTS of fleeces at the weekend to make curtains.

Work was bad, but I have complained to the union guy and after what Z said last night (I have never felt it was bullying until I thought about it last night It has been bad but honestly to some extent it is the nature of the job) I am 100 percent determined to change things. I am always on the look out for a new job but my CV needs sorting and I need to put myself back together career wise.

really reallycold now tho! off to find hot water bottle xxx
    Nevertheless she persisted.
