I've never had to queue in Asda pudsey or norwich and always get the £2 voucher without asking ... even for a 2p overcharge!
It's like they wait till the last possible moment to give you the giftcard so I always hold myself back from asking then they get one out and say "and this is for the inconvenience".0 -
i called cs the other day as i was overpriced on 3 items and the cs girl only gave me one £2 card (had to ask for it). this has happened before to me and i know that its for EACH ITEM. she said it wasnt so i called a very nice man, they answered quickly and did not argue. yes you must ask for card and yes it is for each item. worth looking out for girls !!
Was it three different items or three of the same?
I ask as even HO won't/can't give a definite answer on this one.
Our ASDA in Hereford is quite bad for £2 cards - some staff are proactive and provide the card with no input from the customer - others, (the vast majority) are as obstructive as possible.
Yes - definitely without fail check your receipt after an ASDA shop - I frequent all the chains - ASDA are miles worse for overcharges than the others.0 -
My wife constantly tells me that Somerfield are the worst.nickyvicar wrote: »Yes - definitely without fail check your receipt after an ASDA shop - I frequent all the chains - ASDA are miles worse for overcharges than the others.

The last two weeks, I have been overcharged 15p (same item infact!)... both times I had to ask, and both times I was met with a "No, we do not do that".
I had to ask for the supervisor who then gave me the voucher on both occasions... although on the second one I heard her tell the cashier:
"Yes, it is store policy, but it is not something we advertise, so don't tell customers. If they ask for it, you have to give it though",
or something to that effect... which I thought was a little out-of-line, I think staff are being pushed by store management to not issue them.0 -
i did'nt realise your meant to get a £2 gift card for any over charge, i think i only got it this time cos i pointed out it was quite a big price difference - im going to ask for a card from now on.....YOU LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERY DAY

They used to print the right price policy in their magazines but they no longer do, some of the customer service staff act like its their pocket the £2 giftcard is coming from. I'd advise putting in head office number in your mobile and if they dont give you a giftcard despite asking for one ring head office there and then who will put things right.
My local asda is awful for mispricing, this week is the only week i have not had a misprice out of 22 occasionsAnd yes the lady in the avatar is me

Everytime I get overcharged at my Asda I go to CS and say I've been charged too much, they give me the difference back then I would ask for the giftcard. At first they would be really abrupt and say " Yes I was just about to do it...". So more recently I have taken the money and just stood there expectantly, when they ask if there was anything else I now ask for the giftcard...cue blank expessions, and then after a few seconds they do it.
I have my own theory that if the customer doesn't ask they giftcard might get pocketted by staff...
I am overcharged about 1 in 3 visits.0 -
I heard that the Asda in Crawley had a big sign up at the CS desk recently saying that this £2 gift card refund offer had now ended, hence they would now only give a refund. I assumed it was nationwide but judging from these posts, I get the feeling that Crawley are just trying it on! Or is this a store-specific guarantee?!?0
