Confused. ?Car scrappage

UPDATE:
I took the car to the local guy. He says definitely don't scrap it, it's a good little car. He thinks he can fix it up for £300 + tyres. He says because it had done so few miles before I got it, that he reckons it had sat around a bit and got some rust. He says there's no way it needs a new engine. I'm really pleased. It will be ready for pick up either tomorrow or saturday so i'll update on the actual price then. There's no point needlessly scrapping a lovely little (good quality too!) car. I'm hoping it'll last me at least another 5 years, and then it definitely owes me nothing!0
