if you have £20 to spare then get ram.

low on virtual memory means memory constraints.

    ram is cheap and effective.
  • Its got 1gb of ram dont really want to spend any more on the old thing it is about 6 years old.

OK once you've download avira and updated it, scan with it full system. Do a scan with MBAM and Superantispyware.

    They have 1 Gig
Theres nothing (legitmately) running that would kill 1 gig
The problem is definitely caused by something else (Resulting in a high usage of RAM)

Why should he do everything that you tell him to do? Your opinions are just that, not fact! It is not necessary to remove Zone Alarm or AVG.

Hi All, i am a newbie.
couldnt help noticing that all the replies ignored the fact that most pc`s slow done due to the amount of temporary and junk files on the hard drive.
I always recommend an excellent little program by Steven Gould called CLEANUP

it is a free program that occasionally asks if you wish to donate to him , which you can just click No.
most people think that the cleanup utility built into windows is sufficient. It isn't

I have run the windows based cleanup utility lots of times, then ran Steven Gould s Cleanup, and it went on to delete 18,000 files and cleaned 1.6GB of hard drive space, please download it from the link below and let me know your results.

admins please by all means verify the link below

CCcleaner is good but to slow.

Cleanup runs very quickly, can easily be configured to run on startup, takes a second to load, and uses very little memory, which is quite important when a PC is running very slowly .

also it only removes temporary internet and temporary files
  • yes I have done cc cleaner.and commodo system cleaner. pc pitstop told me to remove some start up items theres not many start up items left now
