I sold an item on saturday buyer left on note saying as he has completed his side of the deal first could I please leave feedback. Contacted the seller to say I would be posting his item today and feedback would be left once he has received it. Got a message back saying it does not matter when I send it or it arrives, he paid first so if I want to do the right thing then dont send it and give him a refund.
Dont really want to get into a tit for tat over this any advice greatly appreciated.

its my understanding that feedback is optional.......................unless someone can correct me on thatGive blood - its free0

I would tell the buyer that the item has now been dispatched and feedback may be left in the near future0

Ignore his feedback request, and just to be safe, send it recorded delivery.
Was it a cheap item? Someone looking to boost their rating to then make a big purchase? A potential future scammer? Personally I would leave no feedback for them due to their rude attitude, and if they leave you a negative, then put a comment underneath stating why it was left.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0

Do exactly what pinkshoes said. They also may be intending to use the threat of negative feedback agasint you to get a refund or money back unaware you can not leave them feedback too. This is why I got into the habit of only leaving feedback to buyers when they left me feedback.0

Thanks, I was considering sending it recorded as I am now geting bad vibes about this. He won the item for £7.50 so not a vast amount but do not want to end up out of pocket and I think he will neg me or claim item not received.0

As a seller, i only put feedback on when i know they have got the item. If they dont put feedback on, i check a week after they have received it, that its ok - and politley remind them that feedback is only left after feedback is received.
It does seem a bit harsh demanding feedback . BSC member 137 BSC member 137

oooo this drives me mad! My reply is always......I'm glad the buyer has paid...that's EXACTLY what i expect them to do..there's nothing else for the buyer to do! So..they pay...BRILLIANT! Then, the ONLY way I know an item has been received is when they leave feedback....and that's when I do the same. We have nothing left as sellers anyway seeing as though we can't leave neg for the BAD buyers out there, which there are a few...he can't leavae you neg for not leaving feedback..that's just bonkers, and if he did, just ask ebay to remove it. Good luck!0

I'ts a bit annoying but I've have a few buyers asking for feedback first so I just leave feedback along the lines of 'payment received, thank you' and so far have not had any trouble and they do seem to leave feedback in return.0

When I was a seller, I always left feedback as soon as practically possible after a buyer paid and I never requested any feedback off them as it's optional. Most did leave feedback and it was always positive.
These days, I'm always just buying and find most sellers don't leave feedback until I do - which is back to front as far as I'm concerned.0
