You may already know this, but I read on another MSE thread that you can ask Tesco to recredit unused (expired) vouchers back to your Clubcard account, so no need to rush to use them if you want to save them for a holiday. Might be best to contact Tesco to check this is OK first.

Also they can check back to see if you ever had any vouchers in the past that were mislaid/not used, and if so credit those to your account too (but I think this request may have to be in writing).

It's true. If they refuse, you can pay for a very cheap offer on the Tesco deal site, the 'change' will be re-credited to your account.

I am thinking of applying for a Tesco card but dont now which one and am not sure I understand what I've been reading.

Is this right: the bonus card you 'credit with cash' then 'spend' that money on your shopping, recrediting it as it gets empty. To do this you can credit it with a different card, in my case egg?. how do you credit the tesco card without charges on your (egg) credit card card. I've read that people use their MBNA card to get cashback, so are charges involved?

Alternatively apply for an ordinary normal card from Tesco and pay for all shopping at 5 points for every £4 spent plus extras from using the card elsewhere.

Do you still get points on your tesco points card and points for using the credit card, effectively massing loads of extra points?

Basically I need to know the best way to get more point (and cashback if possible) as we have always used the voucehrs for money off shopping but have just seen that we could save a fortune on ferry fares to the Isle of Wight if I can get enough points each quarter.

Sorry to sound so thick about this:o

Right I've read the thread. Still dont really understand but I looked on the Tesco site and there is a Tesco CC and a Tesco Bonus Card.

IS THE Bonus card the CC+ which you top up before you spend?

I didnt see any mention of Double points (or any points to that matter) in the info about the card on Tesco site, although it says about points for the ordinary cc. So is it still double points on your shopping?

Clubcard plus is not found on tesco website as they don't advertise it too much.

Clubcard plus is not a credit card, nor is it the bonus card (which is also a credit card).

You set up a direct debit from your current account to pay into your CC+ account each month. You can top this up at customer services too, and withdraw your money from cash machines, should you so choose.

Everything you purchase using CC+ gives double points, but CC+ is only accepted in tesco stores, petrol stations and online at Tesco.com. If you apply for a tesco credit card, you will get less points per spend in tesco than if you have CC+.

Clubcard plus is the best way to get most clubcard points out of your weekly shop in tesco stores. If you're looking to max out getting clubcard points, it may be worth looking into getting online shopping as they have some great points offers on there. (eg 1000 points (aka £40 in deals) for a £75 shop) Have a look here to get you started on that vein

You can pay for the online shopping with clubcard plus too.

Ring the number for tesco personal finance found in the first post on this thread, as it doesn't commit you to anything except receiving more info and an application form...hopefully the info they send will answer all your questions.

Thankyou for that information. I have just asked for them to send me details.

I notice that some people have said that they use the card to get double points then pay for their shopping with a cc. Is this right because this would be ideal for me so I could also get cashback from egg.

I do internet shop from time to time but as I'm desperately trying to cut down on the shopping I'm trying not to spend too much and dont seem to get enough for extra points. Perhaps my daughter and I should group our shopping.

Thanks for your help. All extra points will be great.:T
